For over twenty years this place has been great.now change hands they are already unhappy and quite angry at working there.blandness of the food and the overpowering spicy ness doesn't compensate for poor quality. The stools are very uneven. The door locked and I opening it for customers not a word. We said thank you and no reaction. If you... More

Bala's seems to have been around for years and I can remember eating takeaway from here what seems like only yesterday but was in fact quite a few years ago. I'm glad to say that the standard hasn't dropped at all and the food is still delicious. We had Mee Goreng and Butter Chicken, both of which were extremely tasty.... More

We spied this cafe after walking on the beach and were pleasantly delighted with the Seouw and a chicken salad. These went down well. The staff were very efficient and always had a smile.

This is local to us and the food is consistently of a high quality and freshly cooked.WE sometimes have take-away and that is also consistently good. Great value for money and ,although my husband cannot eat really spicy food he can still get things that suit his needs and are delicious.

St Kilda is not the place to eat something Asian. It was late at night and to drive to Footscray or even Box Hill for a nice Asian curry was not an option. From the car park, I saw Balas' Cafe and from outside I saw their menu listing of Indian, Chinese, and Thai dishes. I went in and ordered... More

Two mains with rice or noodles for $12 They also have an Ala Carte menu for a few dollars more. Its not licensed & more of cafe... More

It takes some time to get your head around the Indian/Asian fusion but the food isn't bad and it's really cheap. The stir fry was ok it could have had a little bit more meat though.

I had a Thai chicken Tom Yum stir fry with Hokkien Noodles. It was AWFUL.Very little chicken, bland taste and not even a hint of lemongrass.Plus it had broccoli in it ! And celery is not an Asian vegetable either.Plus it had the old chestnut 'Singapore Noodles' on the menu. There is no such dish.It is a purely a name for yesterdays leftovers... More

Meat dish was lacking in meat, 90% was noodles, 9% vegitables and 1% meat. Not what I was expecting when you pay for the extra to the vegetarian dish. Very surprised when reading receipt to find GST was added to their advertised prices. Is this like adding a compulsory tip or surcharge? Partner ordered ginger dish but there was no... More
