It was a rainy and cold evening as we stumbled across Embassy@97 in St Kilda. French cuisine wasn't front of mind but under the circumstances we were happy to oblige. Very happy we did! I stuck to seafood for the night. Mussels in a creamy white wine sauce to start followed by the bouillabaisse. Both were awesome. The service was... More

First of all the address listed on Tripadvisor is incorrect;147 Nelson Place relates to the Williamstown address of their other restaurant. The Embassy@97 I am reviewing here is located at 97 Fitzroy St. St. Kilda . We used to dine here quite often when a very talented woman ran it and did all the cooking. Everything except for the decor... More

Had dinner here last week with my partner, the service and food are spectacular. I had the escargots (snails) which were served in a delicious sauce, the Duck a l’orange was do tender it melted in my mouth. The waiter was attentive and friendly and the view from the front of the window over Melbourne from Williamstown was priceless. Will... More

Bought a groupon for 3 course meal and bottle of wine, we arrived early and were brought upstairs to what looked like someone's living room with dinning tables. We ordered French onion soup, beef Wellington, mussels and shared desserts. The soup was cold and did not taste like French onion soup at all but more like a stew with soggy... More

Beware, we bought a dinner meal for 4 from Groupon but was told that that we couldn't change the wine to soft drinks and the dessert sample was the same for 2 as it is for 4! Very disappointed and will never go back there again. One of the worst deals as the price for 4 is just double that... More

We purchased an $89 deal voucher and we were looking forward to some traditional French food, which we did in fact receive. For starters, we had snails and pate and for main course, Duck a la Orange and a Rib Eye steak. Dessert was a lemon merangue pie and a crème brulee. The Duck and the Pate were very good... More

If I have only 24 hrs to live, I would like this to be my last meal - love it. So quaint, so delicious and an experience you must have once in your life.... Bellissimmo....

Embassy @ 97 has lovely, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. There is a giant chalkboard with chalk and colouring pencils and colouring books available for the kids as well as magazines and newspapers for the rest of us.

The food is good café food, ranging from eggs to focaccias. While there is no specific children's menu, the chef is happy to do smaller portions. There is no charge for baby chinos and they have a great everyday special of coffee with a freshly baked on premises muffin, for $5!

Seating is bench-style and there are tables outside: both on the footpath and in a small courtyard, meaning t hat you can sit with a group. Also of note is that there is a tram-stop directly outside the door.
