Drinks-only for two on a Saturday, late afternoon, in a bar made cosy with two open fires and the smell of wood-fire-smoke wafting through the room. A good wine list and the smell of a large pot of mulled wine warming the senses. Drink prices reasonable served with generous measures. Well-mixed cocktails. Very friendly service. Would go here again. On... More

The great reviews were spot on with this one! The food was magnificent; all four dishes ordered by our group. Alacarte without the price tag. Incredible flavour combinations. All meat was 'melt in your mouth' perfect. Comfortable warm, rustic and mellow atmosphere. Open fires got the thumbs up; wanted to stay there all night. Service was friendly. Will definitely be... Dogs bar has been going awhile , I have been going regularly for over 18 years and it is always an interesting night especially weekends fridays etc. The food is good and they have 'Dogs specials' cheaper meals, comes with a glass of wine or a beer. The fish burger was good but not always on the menu which changes... More

Agree with a othet reviewers, The Dog's Bar is excellent and deserves a high rating on its food alone. Beef cheek ragu with truffle butter and gnocchi is excellent. Eye fillet the same, great calamari and the list goes on! Service is friendly and very efficient, The 'Irish' Team just run and run all night. 2 open fires, relaxed and... More

On a cold Saturday night we went to the Dog's bar for dinner...Wow. The atmosphere was highlighted by the amazing crowd of people enjoying themselves, the cosy open fire, very friendly staff, and the food!!. We ordered the fish and chips, the presentation looked fantastic, it arrived on wooden paddles, hot and very delicious, the best I've tasted in ages.... More

Awesome little bar. Had an eye fillet, really good fried onions, bowl of crispy chips and a glass of Shiraz while listening to some nice live music. Hard to beat for $25 wow.

We went to St. Kilda to see the fairy penguins and after spending some time watching them, decided to have dinner at Dog’s Bar. Dog’s Bar is a local favorite with a laidback but romantic vibe. The restaurant serves beer, wine, and fantastic comfort food.

The couple who have recently taken over the Dogs Bar are doing a great job and are breathing life back into the St Kilda music, bar, and food scene. This has now become a "local" for me when in St Kilda. $20 meals are really good. Mostly comfort food but really enjoyable. The crowd attracted to this place are mostly... More

Sat out the front facing the passing parade .Ordered from the menu ( a good selection of well priced simple small meals or snacks) there was also an extensive daily... More

Description
Dogs Bar is Melbourne's oldest small bar, located on the leafy surrounds of Acland Street in vibrant StKilda. Off the main tourist strip, here you will enjoy a very local vibe with artists, models and accountants mixing with the world to create Dogs Bar's iconic feel.

With a classic European interior, an extensive range of wines by the glass and bottle along with Australian Craft Beers, the Modern Australian menu accommodates all of these elements with a range of shared food, mains, desserts and cheeses.

Drop in. It'll be fun.
