We went for a bite to eat and drink before he Rockwiz Christmas show at the Palace. It has been a few years since I had been. The beer was cold and we ordered a cheese platter which was nice. The menu was also very inviting and we saw lots of different meals coming out from the kitchen and they... More

Feel like a drink? Feel like a meal? LOOK NO FURTHER!! St Kilda's famous Dog's Bar has returned to its popular past, with lots of patrons, great staff and wonderful owners, Gavan & Sonya Breen. Despite efforts from a very small minority, this place is The Local for many St Kilda residents, and it deserves to continue to appeal. Great... More

Definitely not what you would expect from the outside. Friendly, cosy, lovely fresh well cooked food at a fair price. Wine reasonably priced too. Loved it. Monday night live entertainment is popular

Went here one Friday night for the music - which was good quality and very entertaining AND FREE ! We decided to dine in and give the specials board a whirl - boy , that was a great choice. We all went for the same dish ( as one of our other preferred specials had already sold out for the... More

Casual atmosphere in a historic building oozing with character. The lunch special was great - a beer or a red with a beef ragu for $20. The odours from the cheese brought out the flavours from the tender beef pieces.

We were staying just down the road and this bar was recommended by friends. It didn't disappoint even though we were pretty early (6pm). We sat by a roaring fire and watched the dismal weather. I imagine that this bar really kicks off later into the evening.

Very pleasant bar with friendly staff, great food options from snacks to full meals. We had fish cakes and beans thinking we were ordering lightly but it was easily sufficient for two. A good list of wines by the glass. The music would have been good if the acoustics weren't so loud.

Amazing bar with a beautiful open fireplace, had the clam chowder which was out of this world, with the band playing music from the 60's and swirling skirts of the dancers.

Food was fantastic and reasonably priced, atmosphere was cool whilst not being hipster, bar workers were great fun and on the ball, band was excellent.. If in Acland St it is well worth a visit

Had a late lunch in front of the fire on a cold and wet Melbourne day. Food was fantastic. Also a great selection of wines available, many by the glass. Then at 4.00 pm the piano was fired up and we were entertained by a very professional group. Don't miss this place.

Dogs Bar is Melbourne's oldest small bar, located on the leafy surrounds of Acland Street in vibrant StKilda. Off the main tourist strip, here you will enjoy a very local vibe with artists, models and accountants mixing with the world to create Dogs Bar's iconic feel.

With a classic European interior, an extensive range of wines by the glass and bottle along with Australian Craft Beers, the Modern Australian menu accommodates all of these elements with a range of shared food, mains, desserts and cheeses.

Drop in. It'll be fun.
