Great cafe

We often call in here if we are passing through Geelong. The food is generally great (only had one day when everything was a bit over-cooked). Seems popular with the locals and we can see why.

This quirky cafe famed for it's great coffee, stunning bread baked onsite, exceptional service and quality (even if a little expensive) food has certainly gone down hill a lot lately. Not sure if it's a change of ownership but the shine is certainly more like dull dishwater. This morning I was ignored for about 10-15 mins before I had to... More

Tucked away in a quiet part of the CBD (on a Saturday morn before 9:00) this could be difficult to find unless one knows it exists. It is worth perservering even if the decor is yesteryear trying to look chic today (it doesn't work well guys - be contemporary if using modern clobber) Great service - friendly & attentive. Food... We walked past this place during the day as it's nestled in a cool little section of Geelong with some other great places. We decided to grab Brekky here and we weren't disappointed!! Fresh food and you can tell they make alot of the ingredients on site. The only reason it's not 5 stars is they are closed on Sundays...

We had lunch at the James Street Bakery and Cafe last Saturday, prior to attending a matinee show at the Geelong Performing Arts Centre. This was the first time we had been to this cafe and we had an enjoyable experience. The cafe is easy to find, the decor is modern and many items of food are displayed attractively in... More

The cafe was very full as this event is only held on the last Sunday of each month. None the less the staff were very attentive and the food and presentation excellent. The only negative for us was the range of teas. No decaf is available and a limited range of other teas. Lemon and Ginger would have been great... More

Been here 5 times 3 times I was charged another tables bill which was higher, and had to tell them to credit my card. The last outing was terrible. Ordered a dish which had beans in its heading and was disappointed to say the least it came with only a spoonful. Place also lacks seasoning - the only item I... More

Great food and desserts here! Always a spare table. Great coffee and beautifully presented food. The only downer is their gf bread
