The other reviewers were right! Had lunch here, Cozy, great ambience. The owner is so friendly, sense of humour and knowledgeable. The food was wonderful, we both loved it, the lambs neck just melted in the mouth. The escargot was wonderful and a good range of wines. Looking forward to having dinner here. All Bendigo should be coming here.

The cork (Bouchon) is a little French styled restaurant in downtown Bendigo. Not all French restaurants need to show a shiny Michelin star. In rural France, it is possible to come across a memorable restaurant in a village of a church, boulangerie and a restaurant. Bouchon is one such restaurant. It is not pretentious, service is courteous, (the waiter is... More

This sounds utterly pretentious but we visited Dinner by Heston in Melbourne the week before and although that was a great (and very expensive) experience, I enjoyed this far more. The owner (Travis) is a gracious and knowledgable host, every course and wine was brilliant, and the entire meal was a fabulous experience I will remember for a long time.... More

As I entered Bouchons, the atmosphere of Provincial France seeped through the rustic canvas of the resturant. I dared myself to try the escargot. The escargot was refreshingly tender complimented by the perfect balance of garlic butter. Not to overpowering. Not to subtle. The roasted lamb rump was exceptional the combination of lamb, vignette lentils and the soft notes of... More

It certainly looks the piece. We have visited "bouchons" in Lyon that use the same livery as Bendigo's Bouchon. But the food is not yet up to the standards we found in France. And the bill ($160 before tip for shared entree, two mains and a nice Fleurie) was a bit steep, especially for lunch. Service was good and we... More

Two days ago, we found ourselves in Bendigo with four hours to spare while our car was being serviced. We decided to have lunch at Bouchon, before walking up to the Bendigo Art Gallery for the Marilyn Monroe exhibition (and, let's face it, no celebrity has ever exhibited as charmingly and memorably as Marilyn). Bouchon, which promises French provincial cooking... More

I was in Bendigo with two girlfriends for a weekend of gormandizing and the Marilyn Monroe exhibition, On Saturday night Bouchon provided the best food we had in Bendigo (and we had some excellent meals) in a chic, cosy bistro environment. Service was lovely. We were glad we had booked as they were full. Wines were good. We couldn't have... More

We had a lovely dinner sitting in the window, drinking good wine and eating a range of food. I had a perfectly cooked steak and the petit fours were awesome. The service was friendly but respectful and prompt.

This was our second visit to Bouchon in as many months, and it was just as good as the first time. Food is outstanding, all the dishes perfectly balanced so every mouthful is a pleasure. Friendly service and lovely calm vibe- really allowed us to have relaxing night where we could enjoy great food, wine and conversation... Yes, you are... More

Had a very pleasant evening here recently. Service was excellent. Surrounds are cosy. Food was very nice, although perhaps on the smaller side and a bit on the pricey side. Would be good to see a slightly larger wine list. Alas I didn't get to try the creme brulee - might have to go back for that sometime as I've... More
