on our last visit before, that was not too long ago. one entrance fee covers everything, now aside from pricey entrance fee, every other activities there on site attracts some smaller fees. well, not much to see inside. better visit the gold museum next door.

If you like Aussie history, this is a great place to go, sit in the pub for a quick beer/lemonade, have a coach ride, fun getting dressed up for a vintage photograph and panning for gold!! Adults and kids had fun.

What a great addition to your visit to Ballarat. A great place we have visited with children, elderly, exchange students and parents. On our last visit we visited on a hot day so make sure you bring a hat and suncream for sunnier days or warmer clothing if it is a cooler day as it is a outdoor museum and... More

Impressive place, well detailed and pretty true to the history of the era, staff were great to deal with and very informative. Blood on the Southern Cross Dinner was fantastic, well put together and thought out dishes. The service from Olivia and Sam was fantastic, they are a real credit and asset to the team at Sovereign Hill. We first... More

We got the two day VIP pass as were staying next door at the Sovereign Hill Hotel. there is so much to see and do that you need two days at least maybe even three. The VIP pass give pretty much access to everything and no need to pay extra anywhere in the park and that included the period dress... More

We were lucky enough to be able to have a good look at these houses that were lived in back in the 1850's and its amazing how those people survived those freezing cold nights in those wooden houses times were sure hard then. How lucky are we these days.

This place can never bore me from the staff who dress and act in character and are always friendly and professional to the bits and pieces you can buy as souvenirs. We also loved the guided mine tour which we had as a family package which included a nights stay at Sovereign Hill Hotel too, see review for the room... More

We took our 3 children to the winter Christmas light show. What a wonderful experience, the fake snow was so magical against the backdrop of the lights. My children throughly enjoyed it. However we wont be eating at the sit down restaurant they have there ( the name i cant recall) the food was over priced and terrible!!

You have to try the pies and/or pasties from the bakery - they are amazing! You can get the family-sized to take home and heat up and share ... apple pie and ice cream whist watching a movie in front of the heater ... what more do you need?

We purchased the VIP pass, it is the only way we'd visit on the future. Definitely value for money. Definitely need two days.
