A fun way to look back into the past. You can pan for gold and go on a carriage ride. (Ride costs extra!) Take a jacket and wear good walking shoes! Food from the New York Bakery was yummy!

There are a number of options for food purchase in Sovereign Hill. Our favourite is New York Bakery. The banana bread and the scones were really yummy. Prices were reasonable too. it can get busy during lunch hours though. We were very disappointed in the Sovereign Hill Café. The soft drinks were $8.80 per bottle. Seriously? There were limited choice... More

I haven't been to sovereign hill in a few years and received a family pass as a birthday present so we could see the night lights and were not disappointed. Although it would have been expensive to enter as a family, it did take us the entire day to walk around the entire attraction and the kids had a ball,... More

The historic event that went on in Sovereign Hill was heartfelt, amazing, sad, and many emotions, being a history buff, this is an amazing town that every Australian should visit and take in on what actually happened.

Good place to visit in Ballarat, kids loved panning for gold, lots there for all ages, prices should include a tour of mine and horse n cart ride in my opinion. Quite pricey so bring a thick wallet

What can I say ? I confess that Sovereign Hill is my #1 favourite historical environment in Australia. I love the smells, I love the sights, I love the characters. I'm a frustrated modern woman desperately wanting to live in the 1800's. Every step of Sovereign is amazing, educational, fun and interesting. Every member of Sovereign Hill be they volunteer... Christmas in July at Sovereign Hill is a fabulous experience for young & old. The streets & building are transformed into a winter wonderland with laser colour images create a moving display across all the building facades. The crowds & the smiling faces especially of the children as they all look around in amazement says it all. I really recommend... More

I had the great pleasure to visit Sovereign Hill with a conference group for a two course dinner and the Sound and Light Show " Blood on the Southern Cross". It was a fabulous evening. The food was hearty and good and the show spectacular. It was wonderful to experience the gold rush era in this way. I can highly... More
