The food at Smokey Joe's is unbelievable. The service is friendly and tip-worthy. The wait-time for food is too long, but worth the wait. Ribs are exceptional. Chimichanga is other-worldly. Give it a crack, but be prepared to wait for your dinner.

Once again we have had a great meal and atmosphere at this place. Each time we go have had something different and everytime the food has been exceptional. This is one eatery in Launceston you just have to go to. Good value for money as well

Is it authentic Creole? No. Is it really good and great and would i go there again? YES! The food was very New Orleans "style" and very delicious. Would recommend this as a must for anyone visiting Launceston.

The food here was a great surprise. It was awesome. We followed TripAdvisor to the restaurant and nearly missed it as the frontage really is an old house. Once inside and seated the service was good and the quality of the food was great. Lots of different dishes to choose from.

I went with a few friends who live here and they don't eat anywhere else! We had the beef brisket (my friends wouldn't order anything else) and the Gumbo which were both fantastic. Highly recommend.

This was my third dinner here and it was fantastic once again. The restaurant is small in size but big on what it provides - great food, great service and fantastic value for money. You never leave here needing anything else to eat. I'll keep coming back for more.

Tucked away on a quiet street in Launceston is Smokey Joe's; a cottage converted into a Louisiana-style restaurant. The service was great and so were our meals. Tasty, filling, and not too spicy for our suburban palates. The setting is rustic with interesting photos and posters on the wall, and quite relaxed.

this restaurant is in an old house just near central park the food seems authentic, is very tasty, can be "chillied" to taste - as well service is great and pricing is very reasonable
