Cosy little cafe in the heart of town. Coffee and food was good for lunch. Very busy cafe. I enjoyed my meal, and coffee.

Firstly I just want to note that the male waitstaff were fantastic. We went here last night (Saturday night) and it was busy. The wait staff were brilliant in making sure we were looked after. The food was to die for. I had the ricotta gnocchi with sweet potato, cherry tomatoes and spinach. Wow! The best gnocchi I have ever... More

The staff were certainly friendly and attentive but overall I was a little underwhelmed with the experience. The coffe wasn't terrible, but certainly didn't impress and the eggs with a bucket load of very average hollandaise just got a bit too much by the end of it. (Though in fairness the eggs were properly poached so things may have been... More

We love Chili and we love Squid, but what Elaia for $29.90 served was one of the most boring dishes we have tasted. The Squid was dished on very small bed of cucumber and fennel in a tower with no dressing let alone any chili. When we complained that it was boring we received aoli and that was it :(.

Friendly buzzy staff trying their best. Had the ricotta gnocchi pan fried with prawn and basil sauce. A sad rendition- the small prawns that should have been the heroes of the dish looked like they had long surrendered to the villainous, stodgy Gnocchi which overwhelmingly outnumbered the shrimps. Light on taste (what basil?) and seasoning, with no help from the... More

Spent an hour with a friend in a quiet environment at 3 p.m. At 4 more patrons arrived by then and the place started to fill. The waitress was very polite. If you want a place with no interruptions for a meeting this is it.

Was catching up with a good friend so the company was more important than the food but what a find Elaia was. The service was prompt and friendly and the staff were well versed in the menu. The duck special was full of flavours and as was the chicken salad. Unpretentious food delivered with a passion and love of what... More

After two and half days visiting from Melbourne it was lovely to find a nice modern, well priced cafe to have a late breakfast. Quality of the food & coffee was great. Wish we had of found it sooner as the menu choices looked excellent, particularly the specials board. Staff were very friendly. If in Launceston again, we will visit... More

One of the most overpriced breakfasts I have seen? Small portions good presentation. But certainly not value for money. $7 for two pieces of toast, $30 for a big breakfast which is not so big at all
