As my cactus pun says this place is very sharp. From the minute we stepped in till the time we left and every minute In between the service the attention the smiling and happy staff we all sharp. On a cold night in Launceston where there was nobody on the streets the fact was they were all inside the prickly... More

The food was all rather bland sounding on the menu and my meal was mucher blander than I expected. Very lacking in flavour and no punch. My friend thought her salsa was actually tomato sauce. I found it rather expensive for what you actually got. I hadn't been there in 8 years despite loving Mexican food and I was reminded... More

Love the food at the Prickly Cactus. They have from mild to Hot dishes and all their menu is great fresh food.

There's a Mexican restaurant in every town and many are so so. These guys are special - good food and a good variety of food with absolutely wonderful staff and service💕. Whether you are doing business family or friends you surely can't be disappointed

Went for dinner while on holiday. Really great service, staff really friendly and obliging. Had 2 entrees, shared between us and felt very satisfied. Really generous serving sizes and really great quality. Had the best frozen margaritas too!!!! Well priced and great atmosphere. Despite the place being really busy the staff handled everything with great style. Will definitely recommend to... More

Had lunch there with the lunch menu. The food was quite nice and the staff is very friendly. The food was worth it for the price!

Service friendly but that's about all that I was happy about with this place. Decor is lacking and has a long way to go to feel like you are in a Mexican restaurant. The food is bland, guacamole looks and tastes as it is from a tube, salsa if not mistaken was also straight from a jar. Chicken from the... More

We visited this a few years ago and enjoyed the meal. This time we were very disappointed. My wife ordered the vegetarian burrito. It was essentially frozen vegetables in a burrito. The carrot was hard and the sauce no taste. I ordered the ribs which were rather tough. The service was ok. I would not hurry back.

I am in Launceston for business and was struggling to find somewhere to eat later on a Sunday evening. I honestly thought that the prickly cactus was an Irish pub from the look outside! I strolled in, saw some Mexican flags and put two and two together - awesome, Mexican I thought. I was so surprised to what I found.... More
