Not many better steaks in the world than here and great wine list. Can cater for four well in dining room or say 14 in their private area in cellar rood which is great fun.

I could have eaten here every day of our trip. The service was impeccable and the food was even better. We shared a steak between us and had a bunch of sides. Full of flavour and highly quality meat. The wait staff were knowledgeable and very professional. This restaurant came as a recommendation to us and we will highly recommend... More

Ordered the Calamari as an appetizer, it was not what I had expected, cooked with a spicy sausage. The New York Steak was superb, succulent, cut like butter, cooked to perfection, frankly the 450 gram portion was more than I really wanted, all washed down with a local Taymar Vally Pinot Noir, light & delightful. Service was highly efficient, if... More

Totally the best wagyu i have ever eaten! The fussy husband was quiet as he polished his plate off too. Sad we couldn't stay for dessert as we had two restless toddlers (not a great place to take young children!) Wow! what a meal. Best service in Launceston and tasty cocktails.

The name says it all. This "bistro" is all about beef - and VERY good beef at that. All beef is sourced from north Tassie - a beautiful and delicious product. We didn't even bother with entrees - though we did have desserts (more of that later). We were there for the steaks. They were each cooked to perfection for... More

Black Cow First review after a little while. Travelling with family and friends on road trip through Tassie for several days so we really hope will be more reviews like this one. Recommended this restaurant by wife's old school friend who is based in Devonport and checked with Tripadvisor which rated this as one of the top few in Launceston,... More

Incredible quality food and top notch service! My partner and I went a couple of times during a two week visit to Tassie and every dish we tried was perfect. Yes you pay a lot for the cuts of meat, but it's standard you pay for, great for a special ocassion or a treat. I'd recommend the tartare, rib eye... More

This restaurant is the sister of Stillwater which was booked out on the nights we wanted but doubt it could be better than this one. It was faultless. Great food good wine list professional staff. We'll definitely be back.

We had a great Friday night in Stillwater. Since it's a sister restaurant, we thought it would be good to give it a go. I must say Stillwater's service is way better. Black cow did not meet our high expectation and will not return.
