Went back to experience a large graduation dinner and had reasonable value for money food and a couple of bottles of wine with friends. Had a poor bar experience; Firstly the beer is just plonked down in front of me to drink from the bottle. No offer of a glass until one asks for it. Ordered a local beer and... More

Many thanks for your review, but this page relates to the Steakhouse. Your review relates to the Barn Palais where you were one of 700 patrons enjoying a school graduation dinner. As one might imagine when there are 700 people seeking to purchase a drink on arrival the bar becomes very busy and to handle that number we employ a... More

We loved our stay at the beautiful barn. The buildings, rooms and gardens were amazing. Only problem was the loud music coming from the function centre. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were all friendly.

It serves one of the best steaks. The service tended to be slow because of the packed house at dinner. The steak is and one of the best tasted. The ambience lighting is warm and apt. The only drawback is the drive from the city centre but it well worth for the quality of food that you get.

Stayed here on trip from Melbourne to Adelaide. Quiet peaceful surroundings. Rose gardens were spectacular. Restaurant was booked out , but we were able to order off restaurant menu for room service. Steak delivered perfectly cooked ....delicious. Highly recommend...great value for money.

First, Service from the staff is poor and unprofessional. My family came from Adelaide and stayed overnight at THE BARN and it was excellent place to stay. When comes to dinner time, Staff was very unfriendly towards us and we have ordered meals and it comes to the time that staff stated that we are NOT allowed to share meals... More

Went to visit with friends for dinner. We all chose a steak, a couple of us rump, some eye filler and one of us the rib eye on the bone special. Steaks were cooked well, lovely juicy and melt-in your mouth cuts. The side sauces were great (we had a pepper, Diane, garlic prawn and bearnaise). The side potato was... More

We stayed at The Barn on our way through to Adelaide from Melbourne. The accomodation was clean and had the amenities that we needed. We ate at the stakehouse restaurant. When our meals came my mouth started to water , I felt like Homer Simpson drooling over doughnuts. The stake was cooked to my liking and the sides were different... More

Our travel agent booked us into this hotel so that we could have a great steak dinner. The food was okay - but the service was dreadful. The waitress who took our order was completely unwilling to provide suggestions (did we want to order one of the sauces for our stake? - "Some people like them"). She then disappeared for... More

Had the rib eye with the bone cooked and wife had Mayura Station Wagyu sirloin. Both cooked perfectly and served with a great sourish coleslaw and their baked potatoes. I ordered a mushroom, bacon and red wine jus and my wife got Bernaise. Certainly they both were a waste of money as the steaks were great without any gravy or... More

Description
We select the best export quality beef available in the country. Our preference is for beef that is finished on grass as this provides meat with maximum flavor, just as nature intended. What we do differently at the Barn is that we age our beef on the premises for 8 weeks or longer. When you consider the work, the cost, the waste, is it really worthwhile to age beef for a long time? Most people and places say beef is aged when it is two weeks old. Like great wines that improve for 50 years, great beef gets sweeter, more tender and acquires a taste that cannot be duplicated except with proper aging.
