Food and service have remained the same. There have been changes in kitchen staff so its good to see the standards haven't slipped.

I love this restaurant and a regular. Staff are really lovely and the food is always great. I've recommended this to other people who love the food as well.

The first time eating here was with a bunch of work colleagues, the food was lovely, so tasty and generous portions. We've been back since as a group which was great. Last time though I took the family which again the food was awesome but the fact that there's no atmosphere really stood out when your not in a large... More

We recently went back to the New Cathay after quite a long time. The food was really, really good and the service was very good, but there is simply no atmosphere. Also, it's not wheelchair accessible. The wine list is just OK but it is also BYO as well as licenced.

I normally order honey beef (pictured) and beef satay sticks. The satay sauce has enough spice without being too spicy.

We first stumbled into the place two years ago, thinking that we would give it a go and that looks can be deceiving...well, we were at an early dinner, only a few other tables filled, a dude walks in, dressed as a Pirate, with a Penguin on his shoulder....he was looking for a steak sandwich. Anyway, he was directed off... More

A small place, kinda shabby and basic, but clean. Friendly service. Run-of-the-mill Chinese food. Edible. My mind has already erased this non-experience.

I had take away from this restaurant and all I can say is that the food was wonderful. The portion size was huge and I couldn't get through it all. The ladies at the front were lovely and suggested what was good on the menu. As an out of towner, I loved the help. Will stop in again when I... More

We are locals and used to eat here regularly. Revisited twice in the last fortnight and were very happy. Old school venue and really friendly local staff. The food is delicious and half the price you will pay in more upmarket venues. We have had crispy skin duck in plum sauce, deep fried spicy beef, chicken chow mein, roast duck... More

Ordered and paid for three take-away items, but only two were in the bag. Too late to bother once you're in your hotel room. The Chicken Satay sticks and Chicken and sweet corn soup were both good.
