Our overall experience was good. The highlight of the whole was definitely the 'white chocolate butter' at the start. Some dishes were a little under (risotto) or over cooked (duck) but presentation was nice.

Everything was overcooked yet still some how came out cold. Charges $120 for 3 courses so they all need to be excellent. Do not waste your money on this overpriced terrible food.

Lunch was was both excellent and disappointing. Excellent amuse bouche, delicious fish main and desserts. The entree quail was over cooked and dry BUT my goodness, the wine list was very poor and outrageously overpriced. A lack of diversity and quality, Margan Chardonnay retailing for...$17 at Dan Murphy’s was $75. Note to restaurant: we expect a mark up but that’s appalling.. The service was excellent and the venue stunning. Overall 3 courses plus wine was $300+ for two people so be prepared and it’s extra for credit cards. Overall it was very good, the quail and the overpriced wine rob the restaurant of 5 stars this timeMore

This is a review on policy not food. We were going to have Christmas dinner with family who were treating us as a gift. The cost per head $200. My husband had a heart scare and was taken by ambulance to the hospital several weeks...before Christmas. He was told not to drive at that time. Although my brother gave six weeks notice , the restaurant refused to accept the cancellation. (I could have given the paperwork from the hospital to my brother as proof). They charged my brother the full amount of $400 even though SIX WEEKS notice was given! Legalised robbery! This new wave of bullying by restaurants is widespread and totally wrong!!! I have been to the restaurant before, but will never go again.More

A room full of character, with Autumn views in May, excellent service and sublime food. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the 3 set courses with choices and the extra touches with our lunch today.

We recently enjoyed the most wonderful meal for a work function at Circa. The staff were friendly, the wine list quite impressive, but the meals were the stand-out (probably more so because I was driving, so I only got to enjoy a little bit of...wine). :-( We were given a set menu with options for 3-courses. Everything was delicious. The surprise was the sourdough with chocolate/cherry butter. The softshell crab and quail were delicious entrees, the wagyu and the cod were also quite nice as mains, and the cheesecake and the strawberry sorbet in particular were delicious. They also easily catered for our Vegetarian and Vegan diners. Sides were brought out, but not enough for everyone, or at least the amount was not communicated well enough to those who started with them, so others missed out and had to share a piece of broccolini between 2 and a piece of pumpkin between 4. The down-side to this restaurant is it's location and atmosphere at the entry point. I'm sure it is quite nice during the day or early evening (Summer-time). However, the road and driveway are dark and quite uninviting, and not overly well signposted. Same with the carpark. And when you do figure out where to go you find yourself still questioning if you used the right door. I'm sure the old stable look or whatever it was has appeal to some people, but you walk through a dodgy door, past empty rooms (where I would assume some people would "adjourn to" or perhaps wait to be seated) and the concierge greats you after all this, when you've been thinking you snuck in the back way or something. Getting that off my chest though. The restaurant, food, and service were great.More

Certainly the building is iconic - dramatic in its decor: a real wow (!) factor on entry. The service is smart but very off-putting to have the wine served unevenly amongst the group. The amuse-bouches (served at two different times during the night) were delicious...and another wow (!) moment on their appearance. The wait staff did a nice job of giving a short precis of each dish on its arrival of the table which I thought was a nice touch. I loved my entree and dessert but was a little underwhelmed by the main; I think some of my fellow diners were too especially the blue cod. I can’t quite put a finger on it, but it was heavy for some reason even though the portions are not large: I suspect the balance of protein is wrong. Anyway, a good night with some good wines.More

After an extremely long week, after a few hiccups along the way we made a reservation here as we just needed to unwind. The staff was absolutely amazing to my partner and I. Kristine E and Mich were extremely polite and it was always, service...with a smile. The food was divine to say the least! Will definitely be returning when we visit the Hunter again ☺️More

We were touring the vineyards and booked lunch. The food was wonderful as was the service We were on a bus so had a timetable which they accommodated brilliantly. Tex tours are a must to help enjoy the experience and wines.

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere with aspects going back to pioneer architecture. The service was absolutely excellent. The food was beautifully presented and so tasty. We will definitely be back.
