I have eaten at Circa many times and it never disappoints. Beautiful grounds and lovely rustic atmosphere and simply delicious food. A must visit restaurant for a top quality experience.

This would be one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Interesting food beautifully presented. Higher end of the budget but we’ll worth it. I would go again anytime.

All the other reviews speak of the exceptionally good food but what I enjoyed the most was the acoustics. The restaurant is in a beautiful old wooden building, the dinning room is formal with white table cloths and gleaming glassware. We were able to enjoy...More

We had the most exceptional meal at Circa 1876 today. By far the best meal I have had in decades. The duck terrine followed by duck breast, my partner had the tooth fish and we finished with the deconstructed Vietnamese coffee brûlée. Absolutely beautiful food....More

My partner and I often dine at “fancy” restaurants and this was our favourite by far! The service from a Andre and Karen were nothing short of perfect, classy yet social. We decided to have the 7 course tasting menu paired with wines. It was...More

Our family of three adults and two children visited “Circa 1876” last Saturday for lunch. There is no a-la-carte menu for this restaurant; instead patrons are offered 2-course, 3-course or 5-course chef’s tasting menu options. Each of the adults in our party opted for the...More

Special lunch celebration 2,3 or 5 or 7 course set menu to choose from. A little bit more expensive than average cafe. Service was excellent, it was the dinning experience to be there for. We enjoyed for the experience.

Dine under the whimsical luxury of classical chandeliers in the grounds of our Hatted Restaurant and one of Australia’s most picturesque hinterlands. short stroll down the tree-lined driveway is Circa 1876, the Hunter Valley's most iconic restaurant, located in an historic cottage on the picturesque grounds of Roscrea Estate. Circa 1876 showcases some great Hunter Valley wines in an award-winning wine list. Or you can experience the eclectic charm of the Champagne Lounge, with its open fire. Under Trent’s direction, the restaurant has now moved away from a la carte and instead created two-course, three-course, and a five-course chef’s tasting menu options. Highlight dishes include Sesame Crusted Yellow Fin Tuna (Soft Cooked Pullet Egg, Olive Cheeks, Chipotle Aioli, Wasabi Roe, Fresh Garden Greens and Lime); Two Parts Duck (Seared Duck Breast, Slow Cooked Duck Egg, Fresh Black Truffle, Truffle Potato Foam, Asparagus and Jamón); Wagyu 5+ MB rib eye on the bone for two; and a Truffle Crème Brulee Foam (Truffle Honeycomb, Rhubarb, Crème Fraiche Ice cream and House-made Truffle Honey). Circa 1876 quite literally brings the ‘farm to fork’ ethos to life as guests overlook the organic kitchen garden that their food came from just beyond their plate. The delicate fresh quail eggs are also gathered from our onsite Japanese quails. Reservations are recommended. You can book online or reservations will be happy to arrange it for you. Opening Hours; Open 5 days a week (Friday - Tuesday) Lunch: 12.00pm to 2.30pm Dinner: 5.30pm to 9.00pm
