I've been to Sprout around a dozen times and overall I have loved the food. However on the two occassions I was asked how my meal was and I replied that I was disappointed I was left feeling like the enemy. I think it's really important to take on not only positive comments but constructive criticism and listening to diners... More

We again dined at Sprout last Saturday night. We had a table booked, recommended for Friday and Saturday nights, and again enjoyed our experience. We had a shared entrée ( gnocchi ) with mains ( slow cooked beef & pork belly ) and a shared dessert. We enjoyed all 3 courses with good service and a nice white wine. Sprout's... More

We have eaten at Sprout several times and always return. Our most recent visit was a bit disappointing. I thought the dishes had lost their usual edge and have developed a very busy presentation style which I don,t like. No doubt we will try again in the future but don,t feel the urge to rush back. Service was friendly and... More

The food is ok but it's not very adventurous. My fish dish was raw and sent back to be cooked. The mush of greens served with it was oily and overly rich and creamy .pasta dishes were also oily, seats hard they need cushions . Glad we tried it but won't again. I recommend little house on king or the... More

I really liked the friendly service. We liked it so much that we went back a month later. We ate seafood both times and both times the food was well cooked and presented. I had an entree dish of scallops as a main and it was very tasty although I only had 3 scallops so thought it was on the... More

Fresh produce at its best combined with culinary expertise and imagination. Every time I visit this restaurant it is consistently good. Impressive wine list. Only downside is it can be a little noisy inside in winter but dining outside in summer is superb.

Scout the roundabout at the start of the Honeysuckle dining strip and you’ll find Sprout alone, nearby, on the ground floor of an apartment building. Thankfully. For those who haven’t visited this part of Newcastle, Honeysuckle Drive is an architectural travesty; boxes of concrete, chrome, glass and steel jammed along a waterfront. It could have been all so different. The... More

Excellent meal - I wasn't too keen on the beef cheeks but the rest of the meal was superb. This is really top quality food.

Delightful restaurant with a delicious menu. Presentation of the food was something to commented on - with appreciation, I mean. Went quite hard on the Frogmore Creek pinot gris, so only remember at the end of the evening how really nice the chocolate desert was with the kumquats.
