and having spent sometime strolling around undecided as to where to go, we dashed in. It was vibrant, chinese enjoying and conversing, hot and humidity on the windows, a cold rainy night. The license had been recalled and we could not have alcohol byo or provided by themselves. The were courteous, prompt and the food was good: we had won... More

Super average, somewhat oily Chinese food, particularly the fish dish. Not much open in the winter in Te Ananu for Asian food. We should looked elsewhere.

Middle of June so not much open in Te Anau - save your money and the frustration and either eat elsewhere or get something from the Fresh Choice supermarket. Cannot understand how a Chinese restaurant can make bad rice with no seasoning. We had a combination fried rice, soups and wontons and everything tasted the same - meaning no flavour.... More

We are here as we were craving Chinese food. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant was empty (for a while). The staff were very friendly and we ordered just before two coach loads of tourists arrived. It didn't bother us as we had ordered our food, but we could see it could be annoying for other dinners.

We purchased from this restaurant's take away menu whilst visiting Lake Te Anau. We ordered one pork dish, one chicken dish, a rice dish and 2 mini spring rolls. The spring rolls were extremely oily (soak through the bag oily) and whilst the meals were nice enough, we ended up with both dishes being of pork, no chicken dish as... More

We visited this for dinner (was craving some good Chinese food) this outside looked ok as well as the inside furnishings are a bit run down. The food was well priced and quite nice, as bus loads of people showed up and I mean 2 pulled up with them all walking inside service was still fast and great - would... More

After many days of western food, we were looking for Chinese food. Step into the restaurant, the place was spacious but not special. The waitress was kind, the first one could not speak english so send to another one. We ordered po cai with garlic, scrambled egg with tomato, chicken with black bean and tofu. Food were delicious and we... More

The seafood platter is very delicious, it comes out on a sizzling plate in a good garlic sauce. The hot and spicy chicken is good too but some might not like how it is all bone-in bits of deep fried chicken. Very traditional Chinese. The Shanghai style fried rice is tasty as well. Be warned though... If you order the... More

I read the earlier reviews and was surprised that my family's experience could not be more different. We first had a meal in this restaurant 12 years ago in a cold night and we felt at home. We went back again recently with our young kids and we were very happy with the food. We were looking for authentic Chinese... More
