About
Pog Mahone's opened in its lakefront location in the heart of Queenstown in 1998 and quickly became a Queenstown icon. The Kiwi and Irish owners wanted to create an authentic Irish atmosphere and so designed and built the pub in Ireland itself then shipped it lock, stock and barrel to New Zealand. At Pogs you can enjoy a lively mix of modern and Celtic music (including regular trad sessions), friendly service and be warmed by open fires in both bars. On the inside it's guaranteed Irish but don't forget to try the sunny lakeside beer garden and balcony from which you can soak up some of New Zealand's most stunning alpine scenery! The menu offers authentic Irish cuisine complimented by contemporary

Really good value for steak night on a monday. $29 and the fillet was fantastic. Just a shame they'd ran out of lamb as that's the reason my husband wanted to eat there. A sign outside also said there was live music on, but there...More

Thanks for the feedback Emily. We're sorry that there was no lamb left when you arrived. Our live music usually starts later in the evening so perhaps you just missed it? Thanks for taking the time to leave your review

Had a wonderful meal here - the hot plate lamb. You cook it yourself on a hot stone (be careful) brought to your table. Best lamb I've ever had! Don't miss this.
