We called in with no reservation on the off chance of getting a table on a beautiful sunny day. We were greeted warmly and seated outside. The waiter was excellent with a good sense of humor. We ordered the shared platter with the matching Pinot Gris. Plenty of food and we brought two bottles to takeaway. Very pleasant experience.

We had lunch at Gibbston Valley winery in early september. We sat outside as it was a mild day. The food was good and the service excellent.

Talk about being treated like lepers. We arrived a bit after 1.20 pm so we don't get caught in any lunch time rush. It was a rainy Wednesday so we didn't expect it to be busy anyway. We walked upto what seemed like a reception area however we were rudely informed that it is the tasting area and we should... More

Fabulous location - we ate here twice - once in the restaurant and once outside on the courtyard. Attentive and friendly service, very good food especially the sharing platters. We visited three wineries during our NZ trip, and Gibbston was a favourite.

We wanted to try some of the gibbston wines but this was much better than just that. We paid $15 for the cave tour which come with 4 tastings of both white and red. It was interesting and explained why the wine is so good. The cave was pretty and it was interesting to learn about the barrelling process and... More

Simple wine tasting in a very pretty setting. Staff were knowlegdable with an easy going casual manner. We didn't take the cellar tour but plenty of people did.

This place was extremely busy and most people had bookings, they had a number of tours groups using them. You had a choice of where to sit and the roaring fire was just what was needed on a cold winters day. Had the 'sharing platter' which I can recommend and choice the wine that they said complemented it. My husband... More

Wine was good, as expected from a Winery but experience as a whole was not enjoyable. We went with a group of 18 for my boyfriends birthday. We were seated on 2 separate tables, which would be fine if there was no other space but there was a huge table right next to us completely empty. We asked several times... More

Food amazing wine amazing customer service extremely horrible. Will not return or recommend this establishment to anymore. Mortified by the unhelpfulness of one staff member Jesse. What modern day restaurant won't let you itemize a bill and with its location why should sober drivers be made to pay for wine if they are not drinking. Very dissatisfied

Hi Josh C, Thank you for your comments we value all types of feedback. We are surprised by your actual feedback as your booking was taken by the F&B manager and he advised you for bookings of 16 guests we would have two tables of 8 and one bill per table, which you agreed would be no problem. It’s unfair... More

A great menu. As a group we tried as many different things as we could. Everyone was happy with their choice. Washed down wine some beautiful Riesling and a Pinot noir. A great winery lunch. We had 3 courses, wine and coffee for NZ$80 each. That's good value.
