After 2 weeks in NZ and eating lots of fish, this one was the best. Turbot (a special that day) and Salmon was perfectly prepared. Nice selection of local wines (too bad Otago wines have gotten to the US yet.)

Fantastic seafood with bluff oysters and salmon steak, my friend who has traveled widely including to Norway claims that was the best salmon steak he ever had. Good idea to reserve in advance as dining spaces quite limited.

Our waiter was a bit of a space cadet. He came over to ask if we had ordered 5 minutes after he seated us and had never given us menus. We asked about a certain sparkling water and were told he’d never heard of it....More

We went to this restaurant because we wanted go try the green-lipped mussels. Taken without a reservation on a busy Saturday night, we were all very happy with the excellent food. The staff was also amazing: our incredibly nice waitress gave us a great wine...More

Service was excellent however pricing for rather bland food was not. Fishbone will need to reduce their pricing by 30 % for me to return.

I had the salmon steak and bluff oysters. The steak was delicious but do keep in mind that there are bones in it. I had a hard time retrieving the bones from the fish. The bluff oysters were delicious. Would definitely try it again.
