The view was incredible. The food was amazing and the wait staff were fabulous. In particular we loved Laurent (Larry). His sense of humor and knowledge about the wines and the menu made for an unforgettable meal.

Excellent food, Excellent service, Excellent wine. Beautiful location. I live in Seattle where we enjoy all things salmon. I had salmon at True South and it literally melted in my mouth!! Delicious! Creative! I went another night and had the lamb and all I could...More
Expensive, overrated and very slow we did not enjoy dining at True South (as opposed to staying at the hotel, which was fantastic). The salmon was boring, steak dish was nice but the serving small. And it took over an hour to get our mains....More
Looking over the lake with the mountains in the background, the setting is picture perfect. The wine list is expansive and expensive. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive. What let down this experience was the food. Vegetarian score 2/5. General score 3/5
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast on our last morning at The Rees. The food and the service were outstanding---as is everything about this wonderful hotel!

The food was wonderful and a true credit to the chefs. We had some allergy requirements and they were more than helpful in this area.
Very good restaurant. We had breakfast (4 days) and dinner (two days) there. They have very fresh fish - my favorite. My husband had duck (one night) and fish the other.
We have been to some of the finest restaurants around the world and they are nothing on this outstanding establishment. The chef is dynamic and the food is exceptional, better than Versace on the Gold Coast! A must when you are in NZ!!!
