We visited for a pre dinner drink and ended up staying for the Tapas. The setting looking out over the lake is sublime ( get the front table if at all possible) and the bar is a really nice relaxed and quiet space. So unusual today to go to a bar and be able to converse easily without really loud... More

Went to the bar for dinner last night. Had Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with the Seafood Chowder, Calimari, and Chips. All were very good but the Church Road Chardonnay Reserve and the Calamari were outstanding. Then shared the Pork Cheek Croquettes and Mushroom Bruschetta with the Pinot Noir flight. These were all outstanding and the flight showed three distinct styles... More

We went here for breakfast and were very happy! The service was amazing, decor was faultless with each cushion being styled. The food was really great and the staff were very helpful. I am dairy and egg intolerant which makes going out for breakfast a challenge and our waitress made multiple suggestions to help me. I ended up having the... More

Our first night in Christchurch and looking for somewhere to eat we found this charming hotel bar in a lovely classic building. Their Tapas menu offered just the sort of thing we were looking for so we settled on a comfortable sofa by the window overlooking the harbour catching the last sunlight of the day. We chose rabbit rillettes, bruschetta... More

This is a lovely place with fabulous tapas and sublime petit fours to follow. The staff were amazing and couldn't have given better service or been more pleasant

We stopped here for dinner on a recent visitor Queenstown and had a pretty good experience. Great cocktails, reasonable wine list and decent tapas. One star off because all the tapa were served on ice cold plates which sent the (hot) food cold straight away. Even when we pointed this out, the following servings still came out on cold plates.... Three years since I last ate here but the evening tapas scene is better than ever. Their chowder is as good as they boast and there is nothing I tasted on two evening visits that is not excellent, from the black-battered calamari to the outstanding fries. The list of wines by the glass is really well chosen and the staff... More

The scenic location was only worth mentioning. When you have so many eatouts and places to wine and dine within walking distance why elaborate on what should have been a ' bar gain' review. The service wasn't what should have been a memorable date night- sadly disappointing- would have visited there again when we are over in April... can there... More

Received great, friendly service and food even though my friends and I walked in looking like a bunch of bums. (We had just returned from some outdoor activities.) The tapas on offer are utterly delicious and creatively presented and cooked. The cheesecake dessert was quite bold in its cheesiness, but it pays off if you're willing to risk it.

The interior of this small bar is comfy, the staff chatty, the ambience welcoming. The small plates of food didn't deliver. The harissa marinated lamb cheeks- all 3 tiny pieces, were underwhelming, served on a teeny smear of hummus with a micro portion of slaw. The calamari in squid ink tempura was a little chewy, the batter black yet tasteless.... More
