Had ordered their degustation menu with additional sushi. The presentation and the quality of food is nice and decent. However, we still feel hungry after the dinner.

At least our third visit here..this time we got it right arriving early so as to be able to order of the al acarte menu (last time we unfortunately booked the set menu option which had quite a few items we didn't want but there...was no option to change). Delicious fresh shashmi was the highlight. Not cheap but definitely recommend if you are a fan of fine Japanese cuisine.More

Ate here with family of four in June. The kids don’t like fixed course meals typically, so we ate at 6pm to order a la carte. You should make reservations ahead of time. I made mine about a month ahead of time. We arrived right...on time for our reservation and we were seated immediately in incredibly comfortable sofas with our table. The place is not large but the atmosphere is terrific. We ordered multiple sushi rolls and a few mains. The tuna/mango, spider and salmon roll were all great. The flavor combinations were different from what we’ve eaten before, but they worked well together. The portions are big, with one roll certainly big enough for a person. We also shared the calamari and ribs at the table. The ribs were so tender the bone just came out of the meat. The calamari is jet black (squid ink) and again the combination was bold but great. All the food came out quickly. We were done by 645. The prices are also reasonable for the quality of food they serve. Make a reservation and go, you won’t be disappointed.More

We regularly have the Banquet Queen course menu but we tried the new Banquet Emperor course. You get to try whole another delicious variation of dishes including scampi, lamb, oysters, and cooked salmon. The difference that made the "Emperor" one more special was the pan-seared...scallop, wagyu nigiri which was rich tasting, and teriyaki salmon which had a nice combination wi the sauce. Super delicious, highly recommend it if you want to get full and also have diverse-tasting dishes.More

Service was wonderful. We didn’t have a booking and it was school holidays however they accommodated us which was great and we even got given a lovely table. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Will come back here again.

We had the Signature degustation menu with the matching wine and sake. The food was exceptional, a taste sensation from beginning to end. Restaurant had a lovely ambiance and I love the auth

We had the pescatarian banquet menu, it was fabulous. One of the best meals my wife and I can remember. There was so much variety in flavours and textures, every dish was excellent. I’m not even normally a big fan of Japanese cuisine but this...meal has shown me just how good it can be. Make sure you book in advance, they are regularly booked out and I can understand why.More

My 3 friends and I experienced a fabulous dining experience tonight . We had the set menu at $85.00 per head and dined on the most fabulous selection of beautifully presented and delicious fresh Japanese food served by wonderful helpful staff . I can highly...recommend this lovely restaurant for an excellent dining experience and so well priced meal . So much food you won’t go home hungry.More

Excellent dinner Food delicious and lovely quiet restaurant with wonderful service and ambiance Very good cocktails, wine and sake if required. We could not fault and look forward to returning. But book early as limited with good space between tables .

An epic dining experience - we booked the Queen ($85 pp) and the food was exquisite. Courses came out in a timely manner, staff were lovely and attentive. Tiny morsels of deliciousness - thoroughly recommend booking this place as there are only 9 tables. Beach...Rd is a pedestrian only mall, so you will need to park somewhere on the edge of town.More

We had a nice dinner at Tatsumi. The sushi was tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. We weren't blown away by the creativity of the sushi but it was very good. The sashimi was excellent and super fresh. Alcohol free drinks were appreciated....Book ahead!More

It’s tucked up above some shops so you’d never notice if you were not looking for it. Luckily I’d booked after reading about it here. I went all in for the tasting menu and sake pairing which I would highly recommend. Every bite and every...sip we’re excellent. I especially loved the salmon, fusion style gnocchi, and baked oyster with Uni. If you want to splurge a bit you cannot go wrong. Will be back for sure!More

This is a small place, located upstairs on a street in the heart of Queenstown. It is comfortable and nicely decorated. The food is the star, however. We indulged ourselves with three different sushi rolls, cut into 8 pieces each: eel, spicy tuna and salmon....They were each among the best we’ve ever had! Each were mixed with great ingredients, the salmon for example with very fresh avocado. In addition to the soy, ginger and wasabi, you could get teriyaki for dipping. We added edamame beforehand and some very fresh tempura as well. Terrific meal. And the staff is extremely friendly. If you like Japanese, don’t miss Tatsumi!More

Dinner here was spectacular (we had the degustation menu). Each course was followed by regret that it was over. The service was warm and charming, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We wish this restaurant was in our neighbourhood. We will definitely come back...when we are back in this part of the world.More

I really enjoyed my recent experience at Tatsumi. The food was very fresh and full of flavour. While the menu includes all the Japanese standards such as sushi and sashimi, there are also quite a few items which are more Asian fusion such as beef...takaki carpaccio with rocket and double cooked pork spare ribs. My favourite dish of the night was a toss up between the spicy tuna and mango roll and the pork spare ribs. The serving sizes were much larger than I expected and good value for the amount and quality of the food. Service was great, very attentive. Like most restaurants in Queenstown, Tatsumi can be hard to get into, so make sure to book at least a few days in advance.More
