Perfect location for coffee and gallery visit with friends or family. Quality and variety in tea choices and some excellent cakes. Favourites? Sour cream and blueberry flan, or mega donut with custard cream..

Nova has long had good food, and it did on my most recent visit too. The service was adequate, but not great. I'd still be tempted back by the food at this stage though

Had lunch at Nova today. Not from Dunedin. Yummy Laksa and friends meals looked delish too. Service was prompt and adequate, although lacking enthusiasm.

For people who like a cosy atmosphere with great coffee and nice food, this is the place to be in Dunedin. They have great beers on tap and a good wine list too. The location is right in the centre of the city and close the the Art gallery.

Always consistent. Love the seafood gumbo and Thai curry. Its always busy at Nova, Great pre and post theatre or movie and good for late night coffee and dessert. Service and coffee good. Also a bar.

Busy popular café in central Dunedin. Menu doesn't change that much but they do a good breakfast and plenty to choose from for lunch. Right next door to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery so you can get some food and then check out the excellent gallery.

Before last night, I had been to Nova a few times. Usually, my experiences there were neither special nor terrible..just a usual Cafe. BUT, last night, the service I had was shocking. It started with the waitress telling me in my face, after 20-mins the order being placed, that she has FORGOT to put the order in...While I was still... More

Nova has the arguably premium Dunedin location, in the Octagon and adjacent to the Number ONE art gallery in the country. Food can be variable, but the service is back to very good. Popular again, buzzing even. After your drinks/lunch go straight through the side door to enjoy the art treasures of this wonderful city.

Found the staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Always a smile and greeting. The cafe was comfortable and warm. I had no WIFI where I was staying so they helped me sit at a table each visit where I could reach a power point and do what I had to do linking into the Octogaon free WIFI. The food was delicious....
