We often drop in here for a coffee after an evening out. It has a cosy friendly warm environment which we enjoy.

Very poor customer service, was not greeted or acknowledged apon my arrival. Ordered the seafood chowder witch was suppose to be 'the best in town' as advertised on the radio. It was crap! Tasted like all it had in it was fish and a couple baby prawns..my spew looks better than the seafood chowder I was served today. P.s they... More

Had the special fish of the day which was pan fried lemon sole with chips and salad. Three pieces of sole and I could only eat two. Not too many chips and a good size salad. Shared dessert of lemon meringue pie - very scrummy. The dessert case was full of very lovely looking options - banoffie pie, afghan cookies,... More

We paid for our food and drinks. Sat down waited for our food. When we got our food lady asked us if we wanted to order drinks, had to remind her we had already ordered drinks. Our meal was good. Finished up and left. Dont know if i would come back again.

I had a Thai Beef Salad that tasted terrible. It had a cinnamon-y taste that I've never had before in a Thai Beef Salad and hope to never experience again. My husbands lasagna was just average. The restaurant seemed grim and tired.

Enticed in by the happy hour promise of cheap ale, and this extends to everything on tap instead of just the Speight's Gold Medal like in most of the other bars. The service started off friendly enough, as I took my drink over to our table and sat down whilst my partner waited behind for her hot chocolate. However, the... More

We used to enjoy our meals at the Dog but our last two visits haven't been enjoyable. The food is still good but the service is very ordinary.

I called into the Black Dog for a quite beer after a busy day exploring the city. The interior is nice as is the staff who are very friendly, however the place is very very dark. So dark that my laptop screen was giving off more light that the interior lights. Apart from that, the beer was great. I enjoyed... More
