First time here, just passing and saw $10 lunches. Well this was very generous indeed, I got the mango chicken dish - three dishes arrived, the chicken with the heavenly sauce, large rice dish and the naan bread. This meal was soooo delicious and struggled to finish. The place was very busy and the service was quick. This is good... More

I am delighted whenever I visit to Taj mahal They have lovely offerings and a wonderful taste. We as a family usually visit there Everything you order is upto the mark. Wonderful taste and good staff .  You must reserve beforehand since nowadays it's usually crowded. I prefer home deliveries at time

I've been to most restaurants in Dunedin as I travel a lot for work. Cannot believe it took me this long to find Taj Mahal. Doesnt inspire confidence when you come in with pretty dated decor, but best indian I've had in quite some time. Definitely cheapest Ive come across, but probably the tastiest. Service was really good too. Extreme... More

I always have the Chicken Tandoori from m y local Indian and decided to try the Taj. Less chicken and wasn't has tasty as my usual place. The wife enjoyed the Aloo Gobi, therefore added a staff (3 instead of 2). Price is on par with other Indians close by.

We have family meals here once in a while and always enjoy the food. Today we celebrated a birthday lunch and as usual, the curry, naan, and rice was delicious. Special lunch deals at $12 (meat) or $15 (seafood) with mango lassi are good value meals.

I bought the Butter chicken curry few days ago. I reckon it is famous meal and it can't be wrong in every india restaurant. But it tastes weird. It was sour and it didn't have any curry flavour. I thought maybe the chef accidentally gave me the "Mango chicken" instead. But it didn't have any fruity flavour either. I still... More

To be fair this isn't the best place you can go in Dunedin but the price for quality can't really be matched. Especially in the center.

I picked up a tasty Prawn Malabari and plain Nan bread from where I was staying at the Bluestone on George. Still hot but not "nuked" on my return. Not long to wait, several patrons eating in. Lovely friendly atmosphere.

The waitress wouldn't speak us even when ringing up the bill. No eye contact, not sure if shy or just rude. If you want customers to come back you have to be friendly! Curry tasted like they'd just poured it out of a tin can. Nan bread was the only good thing worth mentioning. Over all experience was terrible!! Will... More
