I had takeaway of mushroom sabji at tandoori palace 71 ilam road, christchurch and I am so amazed that all mushroom was rotten and in the first bite I can feel the smell of rotten mushroom. I was unable to eat even after one bite. I got confused that is that mushroom or rice smell? but in another bite I... More

We had a very nice dinner at the tandoori palace. The service was great and the restaurant very nice. I had chicken balti which was delicious and my wife had biryani again which was delicious. The portions were very generous and so we took the rest home. All in all a very good Indian restaurant

We visited for the first time but it would be out last , our overall experience was not good specially with the food part. The service staff does a good job but not the chef. We ordered mix platter which cost $22.00 - presentation poor , selection of meat less and poor . if compared with LITTLE INDIA the patter... More

Prefer Green Leaf in Greers Rd but got stuck in dreadful traffic so thought I'd give these guys a second chance but was not impressed again. Tasteless expensive curries, not a great selection either. Ho hum staff. Won't go back unless dining with friends and I don't want to rock the boat.

Their chicken saag/ spinach was no great shakes but naan bread was awsome and tandoori chicken was perfect. Restaurant décor is great and tables are not too close to each other.

I last reviewed the Palace nearly two years ago. It's got a certain something that lifts it above the many other Indian restaurants in the city. Not many diners on an early Sunday evening, but a very steady stream of takeaway patrons. This time we ventured a chicken vindaloo and a lamb pensara, rice, raita, pickles and plain naan. The... Found this little gem while on holiday in NZ. The food was easily the best Indian takeaway I've had outside of the UK. Would highly recommend for either takeaway or eat in.

Visited here this evening and the food was lovely. Very tasty and comparable to a curry back home in the uk. Sadly the service was slow , we had to ask for more drinks. The atmosphere was great at the start but by half eight the music was turned off and the aircon turned on. Classic "time to leave" signals!... More

this is a place where you get great food with moderate pricing. I was with a group of 25 pax and everyone liked the food.
