Received a lovely warm welcome on arrival. Absolutely fabulous meal. We each had three courses, and could not fault any of them. Service was top notch. Definitely worth a visit!

We have visited this restaurant before when visiting Christchurch, and so we must be satisfied to return on each visit. The food is very good, and excellently presented. Service is good, but can be leisurely if the restaurant is busy, and so not the best place to go to if you were to be in a hurry. Prices are on... More

Set in what was an old colonial style residence, the restaurant is full of character. Like other reviewers we found the maitre d' very helpful with respect to wine selection / choice of food. The food was very good, well prepared and presented, and made one feel as though we were dining in a friends home rather than a restaurant.... More

Located in a beautiful old Victorian house down the road from the Botanic Gardens this restaurant is casual and fun. The selection of food is large enough to satisfy all tastes and delicious. We had the rack of lamb which was tasty, tender and cooked exactly as ordered. Extensive liquor, beer and wine choices and great service. Very Happy we... More

This is the kind of place that quickly makes you feel like a much-loved regular. If we lived a bit closer than 13,000 miles away I'm sure we'd eat there often, despite what felt like eye-watering prices to us Brits, though this might be due to the fall in the UK pound since Brexit. Things to like: the amuse-bouches that... More

Highly enjoyable meal with good quality food and a very knowledgeable maitre d' who could recommend suitable wine/beer pairings, of which there was a good range. He was also generally entertaining and convivial.

We just returned from a great dining experience. From the complementary starter to the mains it was beautifully prepared, artfully presented and delicious. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Excellent wine list. The background music was wonderfully eclectic from French cafe to Taj Mahal with a little Elvis and Beatles here and there. Our only regret is that we... More

Loved the poster driven french cafe style interior with good table spacing. We enjoyed the complimentary amuse-bouche followed by chicken liver parfait and green lip mussels in an excellent sauce. For mains we chose the sliced sirloin beef and the lamb rack /cutlets. Everything from the service to the food was just great including a nice bottle of Pinot Noir.... More
