This is a really great boutique vineyard. The guide Ben took us around the Vineyard and I am really glad that among all other vineyards in Blenheim we chose this one to visit. Really enlightening to know how the process of making wines is a passion. An interesting thing about this vineyard was that all the wines are made here... More

Undoubtedly the most beautiful vineyard in the region, Hans Herzog is a true upper class artesian winery. They're tour, though expensive (15 NZD per person), was long and informative. The tour covered the vines, the factory, the making process, the cellar and included 3 tastings (only). The wines are great and unique but prices higher than all the rest. As... More

Beautiful setting and good service, all let down by very, very poor cooking. Our lunch had some bad, basic (and totally avoidable with a little care!) mistakes, which, given the pricing, is unforgivable. A large prawn garnish on the soup had been under-cooked inside a won ton and was raw. Worse still, the black digestive tract had not been removed.... More

Ate dinner at the Bistro one night while staying in Blenheim. Lovely place - wine was amazing and we had a wonderful and surprising meal. Order the homemade breads with the hummus which was wonderful. Eye fillet steak was fantastic - one of the best steaks I have ever had, so so good and flavorful served with red onions and... More

Really interesting little winery, much smaller than a lot of other Malborough plots but growing over ?30 (can't remember the exact number) grapes, lots of which you don't see much of in NZ. Also discovered my new favourite wine (a Zweigelt) so I'd really recommend that. Very personable service at the cellar door as well.

Visited the cellar door while on the Marlborough Wine Trail and what an amazing experience it was! The lady at the counter with glasses (can't remember her name!) was unbelievable and was by far the best person we experienced at a cellar door. She was so friendly and answered all the questions we had about the wine making process and... More

I was recommended this place by my sister who loved her lunch and wine tasting here a year earlier. While we had a nice enough lunch, it was not worth what we paid, and the staff weren't overly friendly or helpful. The gardens are pretty, but it was rainy the day we visited - so that might make up a... More

We stayed in the cottage so it was easy to wander across to the restaurant after our winery tour.it was a beautiful balmy evening and we had a table on the verandah. We really enjoyed our leisurely three course dinner, each course was beautifully cooked and presented. Of course, our meals were accompanied by Herzog wines. We finished our meals... More

My brothers, who are all New Zealand chefs, always visit Hans Herzog when they are in Marlborough. Food was beyond expectation, menu changes frequently. Wines form the estate are European in style rather than Kiwi, making for a refreshing change from the typical Marlborough wineries if you are spending more than two days in the area. $$$

Unfortunately, we just stayed one night at the Herzog Estate Winery Cottage! It is definitely the place to be. The Rimu cottage is the most wonderful place you can imagine. You definitely want to move in and to stay forever. It is located in beautiful garden with olive trees and lavender and beautiful roses and you can overlook the nearby... More
