We are locals who have been in the area for 13 years so have dined out at local restaurants many times. Recently we dined at Hotel D'Urville having not eaten here for a while and without a doubt this was the best dinner we have ever had!! From the entree to the dessert it was sublime. The entrees we chose... More

We found the menu lacked range and style options. The portions were over-priced and on the small side. The decision to charge extra for vegetables was a mistake. The ladies were not asked if they would like another glass of wine and the gents had their bottled placed sans top on the table - no pouring for them. The bill... More

First of all, we are very sorry to hear that you have had an average dining experience at Hotel d'Urville Restaurant. As the new Restaurant Manager, I pride myself on the great service we provide and the quality of the menu we have on offer. I do realise that sometimes there is a rather large delay between the actual dining... More

I hope for this review not to be seen as negative in anyway as our experience at this lovely old hotel was nothing but positive. However, as a few helpful comments perhaps, the only area this hotel lacks in is housekeeping. I'm not talking about the linen or cleanliness but the small things..our toilet was leaking from the base over... More

Between four of us we had the baked clams, delicious, scallops, unbelievably good, very generous portions. Rib eye steak, the chef is French so pick your cooking preference wisely! John Dory, veal and venison. There were four clear plates at the end of the meal! The food is rich, beautifully presented and a real treat. The manager and waitress were... More

A pleasant enough visit but the hotel is looking in need of some attention. Carpeting is worn and in some places water stained. The room I was in did not air properly and there was no ventilation in the bathroom. Some nice touches like the port for guests. Staff were not entirely professional when we mentioned going out to another... More

This is our first visit to Blenheim and our first dinner in this quiet city was as good as most we have had in cities much much bigger . Nicholas, the manager, fairly new at the restaurant, has brought a knowledge of wine and a friendly sophistication which allowed us to relax and enjoy the delicious food and try great... More

A beautiful experience of modern fine dining ... linen napkins, beautiful wine glasses, subdued music, neutral decor making for a calm and relaxing environment. The food was absolutely delicious and the wait staff professional and friendly. I started with pea & prawn soup - delicious full pea flavour with good quality rustic bread to accompany. Followed by the scallops on... More

Hotel D'Urvillle is a stand out location in a beautiful building - but that's just the beginning. This is the second time I've dined here and I remain impressed. A wonderful menu, plenty to choose from. Everything delicious and well-presented. We were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the new wine list - this is truly something to savour.... More

We had a very stuffy dining experience in a staid environment with no atmosphere, sycophantic waitering and , worst of all ...just about average food and , horror of horrors wine not in stock in a wine region. A disappointing evening . Go to MIA instead , it is outstanding , you won't regret it !
