I dined with friends for lunch and loved the meal. I had the beef dish with a pinot noir to match. It was cooked to perfection and then for desert I had the pannacotta. A great restaurant for a quick lunch or a long catch up with friends. Well worth the price and I would recommend this restaurant to all.

Convenient location and cheaper than the hotel restaurant.Menu items were standard breakfast fare with add-ons available for the cooked options. Good friendly service with tasty food.

We arrived for lunch as the kitchen was preparing to close. No matter the kitchen crew rustled up our desired choices without bother ... and we were both well pleased with the result!

We did not have a meal here but had drinks and coffee, which was pleasant. It is right by hotel lobby so convenient for a night cap after dinner up town.

Yum, I don't eat Pizza but this one was delicious, we ordered more, the chicken pizza was yummo. Hubby and I had a couple of beers and wines. we stayed at the James Cook hotel so didn't need to drive anywhere. Our barman and waiter gave us great service.

This café offers well priced food - most of which I have experienced tasted good (except the porridge!). Service is very, very slow; slow to have orders taken and slow to get food out of the kitchen. On a cold Wellington winter's day it is not a warm and inviting place to eat (other day's its fine - for the... More

Restaurant is in the lobby of the James Cook Hotel, on the busy thoroughfare between reception and the lifts. That said it is still a pleasant location. I had simply eggs for breakfast. 2 fried eggs in white toast (no choice) with the crusts removed (see photo). $12 very steep for what it was. Better to go to a local... More

6 of us popped down for brekkie at 7.00am to find one staff member and one chef. food took ages to come, one of us waited until he'd finished for his tea and another ordered the toast selection and got 2 pieces of white toast for $8. past experience informed us that breakfast would take a while but this was... We were staying at The James Cook and had lunch at Sojourn Café before going back on the ferry. We both had soup and bread rolls which were delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient and it was very good value.
