The food was delicious, but costly. Enjoyed a number of dishes, however definitely recommend the pork cheek as it was sublime. Top tip: have a drink at their bar first.

Have been wanting to come here for ages and finally went for it after a random flying visit to Wellington. We didn't have a booking but the maitre d made us feel very welcome regardless. We had oysters to start, the rabbit and steak, and a couple of cocktails. Everything was extremely delicious and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend... More

Delicious food beautifully presented. Helpful attentive staff. A bit expensive but hey there are not that many restaurants in Wellington of this quality. Its worth spending the money for a special occasion. Ordered wine by the glass, I think the markup was a bit over the top but still had a great time.

We understand that you have to pay for quality, however $21 for one drink is a bit extravagant. Friendly staff, and nice ambiance.

We had 'one of those' nights at Matterhorn. Recommended by a stylish local, we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. We were a group travelling for work and wanted somewhere decent and funky and fun to have some fun and were not disappointed. The vibe is so cool but as always it was the staff that made it. The... Had a nice dinner. Seated in a fairly dim corner with a candle as the main source of light. Just had mains and a desert. All good. I had venison and black sausage. I would have enjoyed a larger serving but it was really tasty. Wife had the fish, John Dory which she enjoyed and we shared a side of... More

I ordered fried chicken and mash, chicken was sooo over cooked, dry mash no flavour what so ever, $25 for lunch and a hour wait that's not good enough. The young female waiter asked if everything was ok with the meal, I said "no...not really it's dry" and her reply was...."umm ok" walked off and rolled her eye's, she clearly... More

We went here because it's got a great reputation in Wellington. It was a huge disappointment. Initially the service was very pleasant. We chose the Sunday roast special. It was inedible, so full of gristle that we couldn't eat much. The veges were mainly tough, too. No one came to check if we were happy with our meal while we... More
