This cafe has been going for a few years but the food has always been very good with a stunning beachside location. No surprise that at lunchtimes and during the weekend there are qeues. This cafe is worth qeueing for. Lots of street parking but can be crowded on summer weekends. All the food is fresh, well cooked, good size portions and... More

Food is lovely here, it can get very busy here so you may need to wait for a seat. Would be nice to have a waiting area to have a drink but there is simply no room for this. Lovely to look at the sea and planes coming in

This place is great in any weather and if a strong southerly is pushing in it can be spectacular. Great service and food is excellent. One of my favourite places for Sunday brunch.

It is unsurprising once you have eaten there why this humble cafe has such rave reviews. In a word the food is brilliant! I had the fish which was on the menu and it was excellent. When the food arrived I completely forgot that I was in a surf club as the dish looked more liked it belonged in a... More

Visited twice in two days. Very busy both times, but staff quick to find us a table - and there were six of us. Great food, top coffee, and friendly service both visits, plus a stunning view of the bay.. This place humms. If you are looking for a quiet spot you may need to check if they have quiet... More

All we can say is FANTASTIC, great atmosphere, lovely outlook onto Lyall Bay, and the food was really well presented and tasted wonderful. The staff were friendly and professional. Would return with pleasure. Get there early or you'll be waiting in the queue to get a table it is that popular

We came this time on a wet and windy day so the queues were shorter than usual. Fantastic food and atmosphere and when the rain eased we enjoyed watching the planes wobbling in to land

Spectacular views, great coffee, excellent food, friendly staff and a great vibe. Makes it easy to rate it a five. Worth the effort.

We came at 3pm on a Saturday for a late lunch thinking there wouldn't be a line out the door as usual. The food still took more than 30 minutes to come out but we enjoyed it. The fish with chickpeas and chorizo was nice - the fish was amazing but the chickpeas were like little rocks and there was... More

Bustling as always, we popped in for a rather late lunch (3pm) at Maranui this Saturday. Although we didn’t have to wait for a table down the stairs, the food was still 30 minutes… Good job it’s worth it. We all had meals from the brunch/lunch menu (it’s available until 4:30, not 3pm as the menu states), and got two... More
