Our curries were brought to the table without the rice we had ordered. I told three different servers as they brought subsequent dishes that we were waiting for rice. It’s coming, it’s coming they said ….. By the time it finally arrived the curries were...lukewarm . Really no excuse. It was a busy night but to get the rice from the kitchen to the table shouldn’t be that difficult. Not planning on hurrying back.More

We have to recommend avoiding this restaurant. We stumbled upon it on a busy Sunday evening. It did not necessary appear the restaurant was understaffed rather inefficient. Strike 1: I ordered one of their warm Japanese sakes. Ten minutes later I was told they can't...warm up the sake (what? they don't have a stove?) and was offered a cold New Zealand rice wine for twice the price. Strike 2: after approximately 30 minutes of waiting for our order the waitress confessed the orderl had not gone through "on the machine." Strike 3: when the order finally came out we were disappointed. Specifically, the special dumpling/gyoza that we ordered came out deep fried. It is beyond comprehension why a restaurant that boasts approximately eight specialty dumplings, with painstaking detail of their ingredients, would destroy any of those special flavors by deep frying them. The menu DOES NOT say anywhere the dumplings would be deep fried. Additionaly, their buttermilk fried chicken consisted of 5 miniscule, greasy wings which costs roughly 4 dollars per wing. It should be a red flag to anyone who is instructed by the waitress, "we are a small plates restaurant and recommend each person order 2-3 menu items." When menu items costs approximateky $20, it ends up being an overpriced rip off. Finally, if there were a "strike 4" it would be the exit down filthy, carpeted stairs to the back alley door, past the rat kill box, inside the back door.More

I went there with high expectations as a lot of people have raved about this place. However i found that it was very expensive for the small amount of food that you actually get. Also my friends were unimpressed because there was only two options...of tap beers which is not good enough for a ‘high end popular’ restaurant. Also the worst part is me and 3 other friends had FOOD POISINING!!!! We all ate the buttermilk chicken which left us feeling sick for over 24 hours. Definitely over hyped and would not recommend to anyone.More

I brought my tema into Chow to celebrate the end of a great business year. We had the $50 set menu which was perfect, Everyone on the team had a great time and commented about the wonderfully fresh, plentiful food and fantastic service (not to...mention the yummy cocktails) Managing to give great service to large groups is not easy but Victoria and her team had it nailed.More

Food came out fast and nice atmosphere but was rushed out by waitstaff who said we had 5 mins to leave. We had been there for an hour when our reservation was for 1.5 hrs. Still had some food left and our drinks.

Shared the $15 lunch menu with my party. There were lots of tables on the deck so my (almost) 70 yr old mum was happy dinning out at Red (phase III). We had a hard time choosing from the menu options as they all looked...really good. My absolute favorite was the tempura cauliflower, least favorite was the Sichuan pork dumplings - the dumplings themselves were great (perfectly cooked) but the peppercorns in the sauce were a bit strong for my taste. Food came out fast but well paced with enough food to satisfy 3 ladies but a fella might need a bit more. Throw in a couple of '2 for 1' cocktails and it a delicious lunch for a really reasonable price.More

Went here for dessert whilst visiting in Wellington. Had been to Chow next door before which was also great so wanted to check this out too. A friend also recommended it to us. Got 3 desserts and 2 cocktails. All which were amazing. Our server...was really attentive too and we loved the little booths and book shelves and dim lighting which set the mood well. Will visit again next time we are back :)More

Huge queue outside, no staff were managing the queuing so people were pushing in or pushing to the front thinking their booking allowed them to jump the queue of people who also all had booking. Chaos. Finally got inside, to find mostly empty tables. Huh?...The food and drinks were decent. We went on a 2 for 1 food day, that felt like good value but if it had been much more expensive I wouldn't have felt it was worth it.More
