We had seen the restaurant one evening and decided to try it for lunch. We enjoy the british style meat pies (not ones that you eat with your hands) and they had a couple of versions. We chose the venison one as it came with a pastry crust on top. At 29.95, it seemed good value. It had a rich... More

Fairly priced for a lot of food. Very european recipes. Great choice of beers of course. Friendly and prompt service.

Leuven is a pub with a difference--this being a specialty in mussels. NZ seafood, in general, is far superior to the US because it's FRESH!

Casual, pub-like atmosphere, range of Belgian beers as well as decent wine selection. Interesting menu with lots of mussels options. Area of booths for eating worked well as was catching up with an old friend and plenty to talk about, noise not an issue even though it was busy. Pretty central in Wellington so walking distance or short taxi ride... More

If you want to try lots of delicious beer this place is great, however I thought the food (dinner) was a bit average for the price. Requested "rare" steak, it came out as medium to well done and wasn't a particularly great cut. Would recommend having beers and snacks rather than going for dinner.

Along Featherstone Street, this was an excellent place to slurp down some of those famous green-lip NZ mussels. Our friends took us there to take great advantage of the 2 for one deal offered on a Sunday and Monday and we didn't miss out at all. The restaurant has a great interior decor and ample seating for individuals and groups.... More

We stopped in with our young son and grabbed a bit to eat. It was good! Since they don't have a children's menu, we got the meatball starter and it was more than enough for him! It came with about 8 meatballs and some toast. We also ordered a kg of the wine steamed mussels, which were large, clean, and... More

We dropped in while passing on a very busy Saturday night. Greeting was quick and polite. We were lucky to get a table at 5.30, many people after us missed out. We had lamb and fish. Both were good quantities and very tasty. We were amazed at the efficiency of the staff, especially the barman! The place had a good... More

Big menu, lots to choose from and dining inside and out. We just had bar snacks which were delicious. Service good and reasonable prices.

We found this place one evening when we wanted dessert. It was so inviting with it's open windows and cozy atmosphere, we went in. The dessert was great. While eating, we read the lunch/dinner menu and saw a couple of meals served. We decided we needed to try it. All we had was a lunchtime - but ordered dinner. Venison... More
