We were lucky to get a table at this very busy cafe on a Saturday morning. I dined here a few times 3 years ago and always had a nice meal so was pleased to find that it hadn't changed. The Maori Eggs Benedict was delicious with a potato base rather than bread and smoked fish. Very friendly staff that... More

We discovered Karaka when wandering along the waterfront looking for a place for brunch. The mostly Maori staff are very good at their craft and the quality of the food and the coffee was high. We enjoyed our brunch so much, we went back the next day. The standard on the first day was not a fluke.

Need not look far for a unique, high standard service and product. Had breakfast before heading to Te Papa. My favourite Eggs Benedict, with salmon, wit hangi potatoes, a coffee. Totally delicious. Surround by decor relevant to the indigenous culture of Aotearoa with their branding statement,"he aha te mea no o te ao, he tangata, he tangata, he tangata, whats... More

We went here for breakfast. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The coffee was great and the menu had a wide and interesting selection. The food was delicious and was very really reasonably prices.

The coffee usually is so good in Wellington that I was really surprised it could be even better. And a super-friendly waiter was a plus.

Strolled along the waterfront and stopped here for breakfast on the way to Te Papa. Friendly staff and really enjoyed the bacon and eggs. Had been coughing a bit so ordered a hot lemon, honey and ginger drink and received a large steaming mug of it which i miss to this day ! There were free newspapers to read and... More

We booked a table for 12 of us and had a great time. Strangely enough we all had eggs bene variations....all suited to any GF as they serve theirs up with root veges rather than breads....absolutely delicious. We all ate at the same time...so 24 pretty perfectly poached eggs at once... Impeccable service, great coffee and great food at a... More

Whilst the location of Karaka is very inviting I have been reluctant to return after a few visits where I have had to wait a long time for my overpriced items - this weekend we went and found much the same experience. It was sunny so yes they were a little busy but no more so than could be expected... More

Had a nice lunch and catch up with the wife's cousin she hadn't seen for a few years. They serve some nice meals and also some Maori dishes. Nice view of Wellington and near to Te Papa. Friendly waitresses. Meals were quite good, my fish was great but the wife said her Panini was a bit over toasted but tasted... More
