For some years this cafe and restaurant has been a staple of good coffee and dining experiences on the east and slightly industrial side of town. Weekends are a lottery for those who don't fancy shelling out and attempting to cooly relax and attempt to catch up with friends, to the tune of spoilt children screaming. The last time however... Visited with partner for brunch. Very busy place. Service good considering numbers. Ordered pancakes which have as a basis bananas and maple syrup. Then the menu gave options preceded by the words : "Add on ..." I chose chocolate sauce and blueberry compote but asked for the sauce on the side because really only wanted the blueberry compote, especially with... More

A strong coffee aroma welcomes you the moment you step in. A rather big place that could accommodate 80 pax or so. Suitable for everyone who wants to lay back and watch time passes. Prices are within the range throughout Wellington. Lots of baguettes available at their counter as well. The staff are attentive and welcoming. The best place in... More

ALWAYS reliable value and quality in bustling busy Cafe L'affare. Our latest visit didn't disappoint. CONSISTENTLY excellent in all respects: food delicious served promptly, generous portions, clean tidy surrounds, service polite and competent professional restaurateurs and Hospo veterans do it time after time earning top marks for our family who visit each time we come to WELLINGTON.

I come here all the time - I'm a cafe fiend, and this cafe is perfectly located near my favourite part of Wellington. The coffee & food is awesome, 5-star awesome. The reason I'm only giving this cafe 3 stars is because I've just walked out of there after being ignored for too long by too many wait staff who... More

Description
Established in Wellington in 1990, L'affare is a pioneer of New Zealand's celebrated café and coffee culture. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, we've covered the globe to bring the best and freshest coffee to New Zealanders. Our iconic café in College Street remains in its original location 26 years later. And in March 2016 we opened the door to our flagship Auckland roastery, café and HQ in Newmarket. Today we continue to roast locally and we continue to explore the world - all in the name of coffee.
