It was eat cheap night and this place was recommended by a friendly local. We opted for the snapper, hotdog and a scoop of chips. All wonderfully cooked. Big fat chips. 2 snapper 1 hotdog and a scoop of chips filled two of us.

We came to New Plymouth for the weekend and arrived late on Saturday, checked into our hotel, and took a stroll looking for a place to eat. I had read different reviews for different restaurants on Tripadvisor, but stumbled upon Marinovich's and didn't remember reading about it. They had a sign out from advertising fresh Bluff Oysters, it was crowded,... More

This is a take away fish n chip shop. That's its main trade but you can sit down and eat here too. Do not expect fine dining, this it is not. But it is pleasant and very simple for eating your fish n chips. Busy nights when town has concerts on etc you may need to book your table. They... More

The fish here is excellent! If you do not mind paying a bit more for a basic (but tasty) fish and chip meal, then this is the place. Definitely fresh!

Old school fish and chip spot in the center of town, not far from the coastal walk. We decided to get a take away because we wanted to sit by the sea and it was also cheaper than sitting in. The chips were almost like half small potatoes and super soft and crispy, just perfect! The staff were friendly and... More

We came for a family meal. The service was great and the food was amazing. The waiter went out of his way to make my kids night fun.

Old school service and food using the freshest ingredients. Just Magic. We have been going here for the past 50 years, and can not rate this restaurant highly enough.

The reviews all refer to the quality and freshness of fish here and Marinovich's doesn't disappoint on that score. The green salad was also good apart from the lashings of raw red onion throughout. Where it could improve is on the slightly odd service, 1950s style ambience and takeaway options. We opted not to dine in and there are certainly... More
