Went here for my boyfriends birthday (spent a few hours at the top of the gondola wine tasting and luging alongside the buffet in stratosfare) The views from the restaurant are fantastic, we were blessed with a window seat! There wasn't the usual range of selection that you get at a buffet but that actually worked better as the stuff... More

This restaurant offers an excellent spread of food in their buffet. The beef and lamb roasts were succulent and generous. The salad and dessert bar contains an excellent selection as well. There is something for everyone here. What will capture you the most is the amazing views you can see whilst dining. You can reach this place by taking the... More

Excellent choice and quality of food especially seafood and salads. The roast rib of beef was perfect and staff pleasant and attentive.

We booked on-line for lunch at the Stratosfare before travelling to Rotorua for a holiday break. The rides on the gondolas were great. On the way up we spoke with a couple from Virginia. We had a fabulous time at the Stratosfare restaurant. It was my wife’s birthday and the staff kindly signed a card for the occasion and presented... More

Having been to the cafe many times decided on the restaurant for our wedding anniversary lunch. Great selection of food, good service from Alisha, enjoyable experience all round. Took the opportunity to renew our annual passes at the same time.

Wonderful buffet lunch with great view. The buffet consisted of entrée, main and dessert items. A wonderful selection of soups, cold and hot meats, salads, vegetables, rice and noodle dishes, seafood and several desserts as well as a selection of ice creams. The price was extremely great considering it included the return trip on the gondola. Great outlook from the... More

Could hardly compare with the view and food from Stratosfare Queenstown. Also would charge extra $15 for each window seat for lunch, though not mentioned at the website.

We had the buffet lunch which was good. A huge variety and well presented. The reason you go to Stratosfare is the view though and this is second to none. Amazing.

Description
Where to look first, outwards, upwards or at the live chef displays... Set high on the side of Mount Ngongotaha, Stratosfare is the newest hot spot on Rotorua's burgeoning foodie scene. Luxurious Italian marble, granite, schist stonework and timber set the scene for a memorable experience where David Trubridge light frames your dinner setting for an evening that is sure to delight all your senses. Skilled chefs at their stations craft your cuisine, while cocktail connoisseurs mix and shake at the bar - and the sights don't stop - there's also an incredible 180 degree panorama of Lake Rotorua and the city to soak in amongst the atmosphere. Did we mention the menu? A range of cuisine is presented to tantalize your taste buds, from the tidal mussel tank, ensuring the freshest mussels you can find, to the flame rotisserie, aged prime cuts, Art of the Grill, seasonal salads and the freshly cooked-to-order crepes, we are sure you will leave wanting to come back again and again. Featuring a stunning array of freshly prepared buffet and cooked-to-order dishes highlighting locally sourced seafood, meat and produce, Stratosfare will take you on a gastronomic journey. Our commitment to quality begins long before our produce arrives at our pinnacle site. We work in partnership with local NZ farmers and growers who share our commitment to food excellence, from the pasture to the plate. Our award-winning Wagyu Angus cross fillet steak is just one example. Our prime beef comes from 16,000 hectares of coastal farms near Gisborne. The people of Mangatu Farms have been working their ancestral lands for more than 200 years. They can tell us exactly where the beef has come from, how it was reared and what it was fed. It's the little details like these that set our dining experience apart. We think you will be able to taste the difference too.
Last dinner booking 8.30Pm.
