We booked Stratosfare Rotorua for our first night in town. We arrived at about 7pm so we could get a view of the town in sunlight and see the sunset while dining (Nov 16). The restaurant itself was laid out well - there were plenty of options to choose from and even some inexpensive upgrades to things like grilled lobster... More

Went to dine out at this fabulous restaurant last night and was struck by how friendly the amazing staff were!!! Nothing was too much trouble and the staff interactions were just a perfect balance. We were served by the lovely Merle and we also met the friendliest male staff member called Jeffrane, who introduced himself and explained all the different... More

We were told that the restaurant had changed. It is a smörgåsbord with an amazing variety of dishes. For a gluten free person in our family there was so much available for them to eat as well. The only problem I found was that it was impossible to eat all that I wanted to eat. There were so many choices... More

From the time we arrived and traveled up on the gondola it was a great night. Tge views were beautiful and the food well cooked and so much variety. I had a couple of cocktails and the were well priced and lovely. Finally our waiter Martin was lovely and provided such good service. Thank Martin for your service.

Alok and the Stratosfare crew-thank you!Excellent service, with smiles, laughs and personality. Cannot thank you enough for the most enjoyable dining experience (and laughs and giggles) Dining with a toddler is not usually enjoyable (no matter how cute he is) but you and the team went above and beyond. Thank you again, how service should be! Will be returning again,... More

There is actually too much good food to choose from so it took some restraint to not overeat. There are soups, salads, noodles, fish, beef, chicken and lamb prepared in several different styles (asian, local, international). The desserts looked great but I was too full after sampling the many different options. Well worth the trip up on the gondolas.

My mom booked a table for 7 around 7ish pm and wanted to be moved to a table near glass window for a better view, she also requested wine and a birthday crepe, for it is a special night. They said its possible but it would be a $15 extra per head for it. My mom agreed but when we... More

Where to look first, outwards, upwards or at the live chef displays... Set high on the side of Mount Ngongotaha, Stratosfare is the newest hot spot on Rotorua's burgeoning foodie scene. Luxurious Italian marble, granite, schist stonework and timber set the scene for a memorable experience where David Trubridge light frames your dinner setting for an evening that is sure to delight all your senses. Skilled chefs at their stations craft your cuisine, while cocktail connoisseurs mix and shake at the bar - and the sights don't stop - there's also an incredible 180 degree panorama of Lake Rotorua and the city to soak in amongst the atmosphere. Did we mention the menu? A range of cuisine is presented to tantalize your taste buds, from the tidal mussel tank, ensuring the freshest mussels you can find, to the flame rotisserie, aged prime cuts, Art of the Grill, seasonal salads and the freshly cooked-to-order crepes, we are sure you will leave wanting to come back again and again. Featuring a stunning array of freshly prepared buffet and cooked-to-order dishes highlighting locally sourced seafood, meat and produce, Stratosfare will take you on a gastronomic journey. Our commitment to quality begins long before our produce arrives at our pinnacle site. We work in partnership with local NZ farmers and growers who share our commitment to food excellence, from the pasture to the plate. Our award-winning Wagyu Angus cross fillet steak is just one example. Our prime beef comes from 16,000 hectares of coastal farms near Gisborne. The people of Mangatu Farms have been working their ancestral lands for more than 200 years. They can tell us exactly where the beef has come from, how it was reared and what it was fed. It's the little details like these that set our dining experience apart. We think you will be able to taste the difference too.
Last dinner booking 8.30Pm.
