Dined here several times during our stay at the Paihia Beach Resort and Spa. The food was amazing and the service was perfect! They deliver complimentary olives and bread as a start to your meal, along with amuse bouche and sorbet between courses a which is a lovely touch. Their menu at the time was a bit limited as they... Amazing food, Perfect el carte meals, very professional service, luxury and private atmosphere. Allow at least 2 hours for an amazing experience. With lots of complimentarys to taste whilst between courses. We went four times. The breakfast allow an hour and that is amazing.

My partner and I had the 3 course meal as part of a hotel deal over winter. It was perfect- great presentation, fresh meat/seafood, and great service. Didn't wait long at all for meals either. Cocktails were a little out of the ordinary but far better than we've had for a long time.

The portions are small but I believe thats all part of the experience. The oysters where very fresh and fat which were served on a ice platter next to our table. Great views all it needed was some background music but this is picking really. Would definitely recommend others to dine here!!

Beautifully presented and well thought out combinations. The food was just fantastic at dinner! We then backed up with the breakfast the next day. Wow! Cooked or order; plentiful and well presented.

When bread and olives arrived unasked for, things had already started to look up, the appalling NZ practice of charging for 'Bread and Dips' always annoys us. And it just got better, excellent seared tuna with fresh julienned vegetables and a light soy/mirin sauce, and quail confit - again out of the ordinary for NZ restaurants. The pina colada sorbet... Small menu but makes for easy choices. We have been three times and each time have had a fabulous meal. The deserts are to die for with interesting mix of flavours and textures leaving you wishing you could try another.

Wow if only we had known the food was so good we would have gone the evening before as well. With the olives, bread, scallop and entree closure all complimentary our 3 course meal turned into a 6 course meal. Every course was devine.

French upscale and a little more expensive but very very nice. Presentation was very nice, excellent food, good choice of wines, beautiful view and staff didn't miss a thing. Plan on taking your time as our dining was about 2.5 hours but we were on vacation!

Description
Provenir is a modern local restaurant with a seasonally driven menu. The centre of the restaurant is the kitchen where ingredient quality is non-negotiable.

Provenir emphasises the age old formula of simple ingredients cooked well, freshness with a sense of energy, a little bit theatrical, true to life with quality and a story.

Hand made, artisanal, from farm to chef. We know our farmers, fisherman, wine makers & growers; from Rod McDonald with his Quarter Acre stunning Syrah, to Bill French who raises our Perendale Lamb, they are just a few of our team.

Head Chef - Marcus Berndt
