We ran out of gas on the way to Napier because apparently we missed the station! Thankfully, Jim saved our trip with 10 liters of gas. So five stars for Jim.

Great place to stop & watch the chopper take off with hunters. Beautiful views. Stopped off to break trip up from Tauranga to Napier. Next time will keep going & try one of the others. Cafe-not good Scone-cold, kept in chiller Asked for it with jam/cream The warmed it up, but turned it to rubber. Coffee-too hot Almond & plum... More

We were very impressed with the high standard of cleanliness in the café. Homemade food on offer was varied & of impressive standard. Service was prompt & efficient. Prices are at the upper end for a café but understandable due to the remoteness. It is however a great stopover between Taupo & Napier.

A stop off for tea! Couldn't resist the egg and bacon triple decker great value and consumed in front of a roaring log burner. Nice atmosphere here!

We stopped of for a break as the cafe and views would be a relief from driving. Nothing is priced because it is a little expensive for cafe food. The service seems a bit chaotic therefore slow. The cake was lovely but the coffee a little bitter. We wished we had stayed in the RV and made our own.

Needed a mid-trip coffee and very quickly regretted pulling over for a takeaway coffee. I hate waste so forced myself to drink it. It was very weak and the milk was overheated. Conversely, the view was spectacular.

What a crowd! The queue was almost out the door. It was a bit confusing if we were to plate up or just select and request at the counter. I think it was a mix of both, with hot items on request. There was a trio of younger Asian ladies who worked very quickly to process the crowd. Their English... More

Have stopped here on many occasions, looks like new owners. Food and service good, but pricey for somewhere in the middle of nowhere

My wife and I were very hungry and decided to stop here for a bite. We went in and while my wife used the loo I went to check out the food. I wasn't expecting much as this place is in the middle of nowhere. The pies looked like 99c packet pies heated up in the microwave the previous day... More
