This was a fabulous experience, having beautiful tea, over looking the tea plantation. The high tea food was delicious and we had excellent service. Very special day out!

I have been to the Zealong cafe several times with friends which has always been absolutely lovely, but more recently went to a work function (80 of us approx) at the new Function Centre. The buffet was beautiful, the venue superb, the staff outstanding. Perfect for large groups. It would be a fabulous wedding venue.

This is a wonderful secret only 10 minutes outside Hamilton - a tea estate, which does tours and shows you their operation, and a magnificent tea house. They have a full menu for lunches, but the real treat is their high tea. These come with a range of 12 entree and sweet mini treats, so delicately crafted. There are two... More

New Zealand's only tea estate ,just outside of Hamilton . Treated by in- laws ,and a fine choice it was . Nicely appointed with a fine attention to detail ,ones server takes you through your choice of teas and sets up ones individual infusions , a small but most charming touch . Mighty good teas they were ,I chose the... More

Had a great time with my family with the tour and high tea. We learnt so much about the tea and the food was delicious. Our tour guide Jerman is knowledgable and generous in sharing his knowledge and skills in tea. Will definitely come back again.

You are first struck by the beautiful plantation itself and the homage to its joint ownership between NZ and Chinese interests with sculptures and pleasant walkways. The restaurant itself is stunning. We had the high tea. While it was expensive, the food was delicate and delicious. Many people around us asked us what we had ordered. They were intrigued by... poor foot access. overpriced and poor quality food for the prices charged. Pastry cases overly thick detracting from the filling. Fillings fell out of savoury items when moved from platter to plate

Although it's not the traditional Chinese tea taste, a little bit lighter, still recommend everyone. Nice environment and service. Creative way to share the Tea culture with the world.

The meal was a taste sensation. I had high tea oriental style, the flavours all worked and was so flavourful. I came away feeling full and satisfied. The tea was so great, having a chance to try different flavours too was great. The staff very informative and it was just a relaxing and fun afternoon.

This restaurant is in a beautiful setting overlooking the tea plantation of Zealong Tea Estate, with plenty of shaded outdoor seating (as well a some indoors). All the wait staff were very professional. The tea was like nothing I have ever tasted before, beautifully fresh and energising, with a choice of five different styles, from green to dark. The tea...
