Gothenburg serves a great selection of tapas. We focus on having a relaxed atmosphere combined with excellent service. We have a beautiful view of Waikato River from our dining room and outdoor terrace, and are located just a minutes walk from the main street.

This was our first evening out since Lockdown and we were not to be disappointed. The food was absolutely first class; distinctive, perfectly cooked and presented and sublimely tasty. The service was exceptional; warm, friendly and knowledgeable.
One of the nicer restaurants in Hamilton. Excellent food, particularly the ginger and chili prawns, the arancini and the sirloin dish. Very friendly and efficient service.
It's not cheap, but the food doesn't disappoint.

There are not many restaurants you can go back to repeatedly and enjoy the experience as if it was your first visit. Gothenburg is one. The food is outstanding, immaculately presented, the service is friendly and well timed. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Can't recommend highly enough.

I thought their response was witty and well thought out. They provided evidence dismissing your wife's claims that the chilli burnt her mouth. I myself have eaten the dish as well as many of my friends and we not once have had an issue. Perhaps your wife had an allergic reaction? If so that is most definitely not Gothenburg's fault.
