I travel a lot for work and for pleasure, but when back in Auckland, Culpeper is our favourite place. The burgers are great, the oysters excellent and the drink's menu is always interesting. Staff are good too. Especially enjoy happy hour - it's a a...good way to start the evening. Looking forward to when it re-opens. Thanks. CateMore

We came here twice, once for dinner and once for happy hour. Happy hour is a good deal, $2 oysters and $5 drinks. Dinner was good but we never had the same server so we were confused as to who could help us. Food was...good but it is a little pricey. Busy place so obviously popular. Nice location on the waterfront.More

I have been going here for years. My husband and I love it! It has happy hour - every day! The oysters are $2 each and the food is delicious. The staff are great too. This is my go-to if I want to go to...The Viaduct. It has a chilled vibe which suits me :) They are part of the nourish group which is ideal to spend our airpoints.More

Really great food and service. The brisket was divine. Couldn’t ask for a better spot for lunch. Not as hectic as the viaduct but still lots to look at. I recommend booking and get a table outside early.

Went for dinner with a friend on Friday. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was ok and service time was a bit slow. Waited about 10 minutes for our wine which they strangely decanted (it was white wine) and we therefore weren't sure we got...the wine we asked for. Not sure we would rush back.More

Our family of six (older kids - Uni students/teens) came here for our son's 23rd birthday. We has checked out the menu beforehand and knew there was something for everyone including me being gluten free. Location is amazing and we had an outside table. Service...was friendly and efficient. We all enjoyed our meals - we had a slight issue with one of them but it was dealt with fine. The birthday treat brought out for our son was an added bonus - he loved it - thanks so much! Was a fun time - we'll definitely be back!More

We both enjoyed the meal at Culpepper’s. It has a great location on Prince’s Wharf with both inside and outside dining. The menu is creative, but also fairly limited. The fried chicken was very good! A good selection of wines both by the glass and...by the bottle. Friendly and helpful service.More

We decided to go out for lunch on the Viaduct and went to the culpeper - Had not tried them before , even though we recognized the server from Euro next door .We had a few small plates to pick from I had the Tuna...Poke which i loved. Oysters both natural and tempura - which were yumm- shrimp taco and some chicken tenders were also ordered to share- My husband decided to have the foot long hot dog and couldn't finish it all after the mac and cheese and had to take it home ! Without reservation we stopped in late new years eve. A table was free by the entry for drinks and food to be ordered from the bar, the restaurant was fully booked. There was no table service as a result. Went for set menu. Food was...good although probably not worth the $75 price tag. In the end we had to ask for our desert as it was almost midnight. Quite poor as tbe restaurant had emptied out and so staff were not busy. Overall a good experience, wouldn't mind going back for a regular meal.More

We spent NYE 2019 at The Culpeper. Set menu with a glass of bubbles. All 4 of us LOVED each and every course. Quality ingredients thoughtfully and tastefully prepared and well presented. Service was on point and super friendly. The outside area provides plenty of...visual stimulation. We spent the evening with my ageing parents so these memories are precious. All in all a wonderful night. Thank you.More

Food was great thank you, tasty, good size portions. The lunch menu was somewhat limited, thought some pages may have been missing.. disappointing too that at sunday lunch we were told "sorry the berry mojito is only available during happy hour, and the $2 per...oyster is only available at dinnertime. Not as wonderful as our three previous visits, maybe because it was just sunday lunch not peak time dinner.. but prolly will not return for a while, see if it is better again next time.More

We arrived at 5pm for happy hour, and were able to be seated at the table we'd booked for dinner later on. The $10 happy hour cocktails were all great, although one was very, very sweet and had to be shared between five of us...to finish. Once we were able to flag down a member of staff to order, the food was delicious. Chips were the highlight, the seasoning was to die for and they were perfectly crispy. Surprising amount of vegetarian options for a seafood and BBQ restaurant, I had the roasted kumara which was delicious. Everyone else also loved their meal. Service could be improved, we had to flag down staff to order more drinks after ours had been finished for a while, and also to order our meal. Staff were pleasant, and it was a busy Friday night, but we felt a little forgotten at times. Overall it was a great night, with good happy hour drinks and excellent food - I'm still thinking about the chips and lamenting not living in Auckland.More

Had a lovely meal here recently. Our server was welcoming and seated us on the patio. The menu was explained and then it was time to choose. I think the wording small plates is deceptive as the fried chicken and shrimp tacos were both very...generous servings and very tasty, with the shrimp taco having some spice to them. We opted for mains of ribs (500g) merguez corn dog, a good old cheeesburger and the brisket. All dishes got the thumbs up, the burger was cooked as requested and thankfully not in a brioche bun. The ribs were tangy and sticky and the corn dogs went well with the cauliflower side dish. The brisket was melt in your mouth and matched well with the habanero dressing.More
