A complete treasure of a restaurant. We have been coming for years and always marvel at the delicious food and the roti is the best you find anywhere. Angie is the perfect host and will help you pick the right mix of food.

My first day in New-Zeland, it was 12 o'clock, I was starting to feel hungry, passed by restaurants that surprisingly to me where still closed I noticed this one, and read on their store window that they had been named on Condé Nast Traveler Magazine's...world food map, what a reference! I went in without hesitating then, loved the laid-back atmosphere, brought by the place itself, staff and customers As it was my first time ever at a Malaysian restaurant, I decided to ask staff for recommendation, as long as it would not be spicy, and went for Mie Goreng, a typical Malaysian meal, made of fried noodles, chicken, seafood, egg, tofu and vegetables Happy to recommend Sri Pinang!More

A Lovely Evening, Very friendly service from the head lady and staff. Very flavoursome food. The flavours come in gentle waves. We had a Prawn Omlett and the Beef Rendang. Quanities are generous. We will go back with friends so that we can share more...flavours.More

Return visit with family. Whilst I have always rated 5 stars plus, on this occasion I chose a beef dish. I didn't consider the beef the best of quality having a processed texture. Every body else were delighted with their choices. Lovely crew as ever....🇬🇧🇳🇿More

After so many years, still on Karangahape Road, still great food and amazing service. Our meals were generous and flavoursome, the service was personable and friendly. BYO Beer and Wine (no license). Great value for money.

A great place to eat. Nothing fancy at all and very small place but fantastic food. The flavours are great. Full rich flavour but not too hot. We had a few dishes and all were excellent. The family style and great personal service only adds...to the experience. Very reasonable prices but a booking is advisedMore

Friendly service, tasty food. Noodles and clay pot was great and curry plus roti. Would go there again. Good prices too.

10 stars surely? Around 8.15 last Thursday evening there was a queue but we returned half an hour later after an excellent Long Island Iced Tea in Eagle Bar. A table was free as we hoped. Efficient service and good quality ingredients and extra hot...for me. Absolutely delicious. And it's a BYO with just a $4 corkage. Perfect! (Bottle shop opposite).More

Had to make a trip to Sri Pinang on K Road for lunch after seeing them get mentioned in Condé Nast. I arrived very early at around 11:30 so had no issues getting a table, however as the lunch service went on it got quite...busy! Their specialties are the beef rendang and roti so I ordered both, as well as a serving of steamed rice. The roti was perfectly flakey and buttery, while the rendang was a generous serve with lots of beef. The owner Angie as well as all the staff are so lovely! Always full of energy and happy to chat with their customers. If you love Malaysian, Singaporean and Chinese food then Sri Pinang is definitely worth a visit.More

She who must be obeyed and I dropped in (you need to book) and although it was only 6pm the place was filling up. Here it is all about the food, some of the best Malaysian I have had including in Penang, full of correct...spices, the right heat, tender meat/chicken cuts, light coconut rice, and the best roti I have had anywhere. All this washed down with an admirable Sav Blanc (beer or Pinot Gris would have been better) all of which can be purchased just across the other side of K road. The servings are large so don’t over order, just get more if you’re still hungry. Great service and an enjoyable atmosphere.More

Food was not that good. Had lamb curry, rice and Roti. Only Roti was great . Hot tea came ready made with sugar and condensed milk. I don’t take sugar 😞. Table was not set up. When asked the owner how large the serving is,...she said just order one and if you want more you can order, was myself and my husband. When food came we Had to asked for silverware, then napkins. It’s a BYO wine and beer for corkage fee whose didn’t know. At the end she the owner was friendly to us🙏More

Small hidden gem on KRd. Authentic malaysian cusine. Best roti bread ever. We had the best meal and the service was awesome. Defin going back. Its not a licensed bar so grab a nice btl wine and pay cheap corkage.

We stayed in Auckland for a few nights and had a wander around K'Road and spotted this little restaurant and decided to head back for dinner, we rang to book and were lucky to get in early in the evening as they were fully booked...later on, it's easy to see why, the menu offers a huge range of well priced options, my wife and I shared three entrees and a couple of mains, all were exceptional, we like our meals reasonably spicy and ordered our mains medium/hot and the level of spice was perfect, the service was fast and super friendly, we can't wait to get back up to Auckland and can see this becoming a regular, one recommendation is to ensure that you book to avoid disappointment.More
