We had drinks outside, the service was polite and perfect so much so that we cannot wait to go back and eat there , the food looks delicious. The lemoncello was perfect , we love Italy and we can see and hear from the Italian...conversation that this place should be triedMore

What a fun littile cafe this is Good menu Typical Italian food Good service Good wines Nice to sit outside will be back

Absolutely underrated Italian food in mission bay! If you are looking for a FAT bowl of pasta on a rainy day in mission bay, look no further than Toninos! We ordered the garlic bread and dip for starters. For mains we had the spag beef...bolognese and spag meat ball! Both tasted rich and full of flavour. Would definitely recommend! Also the portion sizes are huge, so you’ll have some left for lunch the next day!More

Been here twice, first time burnt pizza, mentioned this, but had no time to wait for another one, so left. Thought we would try again, as it's local. Again burnt bottom, never again.

Have never been so rudely spoken to. Tonight (Friday) we had a lovely and reasonably priced meal with some friends that we haven't seen for a while. We (4 pax) got there after 6pm and when we got up at 8:20pm to pay we were...told off by the proprietor for having been there for over three hours, ie not correct, and that we should have left much sooner! We were not told that we had to be out by a specific time and were not prompted to order dessert, coffees etc or even had the bill offered to get us moving. Have never, ever, EVER, been spoken to like that by someone in the hospitality industry. Will never return.More

Great price, service tasty food and great back story and interaction from owner who has operated in the store since 1984. Well worth the visit if you love Italian food. Thank you Salvatori and staff for a wonderful dinning experience.

What was good? Fast service Optional BYO Extra cheese Good Carbonara On the other hand... Water to the table would be good Serving drinks in cans with straws? Wine list very minimalist and overpriced for less than average choices I found the calamari a bit..."fishy" but that's personal preferenceMore

Have been here two times over recent weeks. First for lunch. A large Quattro Pizza. Superb. Base crispy, the cheese malleable and ingredients moist. One of the best Pizzas I have ever had; cooked by assume the founder himself. Fast forward a few weeks. Anticipation high,...but anticipation dashed. Dry, burnt on some of the edges & the aspects making the first pizza so good absent in the next. I didn't complain straight away as reluctant to put a dampener on our evening. I should have. I mentioned it to one waiter who mentioned it to the cook on duty.By the time he came over I had struggled through over half of it. He said it was too late for a replacement and annoyingly said that in his opinion that is how he would like it to be. Well all I can say is Chef 1 & Chef 2 should have a chat about what comprises a good pizza. To be honest I didn't want another Pizza. That was not what I wanted. He took the remainder away at my request. On paying the bill he had the decency ( unasked) to take the cost of the pizza off the account & to apologise. That was good of him but not the point. All I wanted was to have that good experience I had so enjoyed.I might try again again but if I do I will be looking very closely to see if Chef 1 is there. So one experience a real treat & the other the complete opposite. Good Luck my friends!More

Look I got to say I'm a little fussy when it comes to Italian food only because most of the time its Italian themed food not REAL Italian food. I have been here a couple of times now and will continue to dine here because...the food here is just fantastic. Pizzas great as well!More

One of the things I missed about moving away from Auckland was access to the pizza at Tonino's Pizzeria. It is a great place in Mission Bay and has remained unchanged for years. My favourite pizza there is their 'Special' pizza. 8 simple ingredients that...I tried replicating at different pizza places but could not capture the same taste as the Tonino's version. My friend and I went for an early dinner and grabbed a table for 2. It gave us a chance to catch up over delicious pizza bread and dips, a couple of beers and a large 'Special' pizza. All up it cost us $55 but it was worth it to enjoy the 'Special' pizza with a good friend in a nice dining environment.More

Great busy little place on a week night. Excellent pizzas with lovely thin crispy bases. Cannelloni and penne pasta good too. And BYO which is always great!

We went to Tonino's on the recommendation of a friend who has lived in Mission Bay for more than 40 years! He said they served the best pizza in the area. We tried three different pizzas: my wife had the tandoori chicken with red onions...and banana (very exotic!), I had vegetarian and the two kids shared a Hawaiian. Pizzas had a lovely thin crust, lots of tomato sauce, mozzarella and great toppings. They came out of the oven hot and delicious! Together with 4 glasses of nice chianti and a pineapple juice, the bill was a very reasonable $95 ... highly recommended!More

We ordered two large pizza's for takeout. The variety was smashing and once we dove into the food we were very pleased. Delicious.

True Italian style wherein the portion size is something you will be fed in an Italian household. The food is great, the staff are really polite and the location of mission Bay is perfect place to have a relaxing dinner at Tonino's
