We met with our fabulous friends who we haven’t seen for years and had a fabulous dinner. The food was so good, and the service was excellent I absolutely recommend this restaurant We come here often after movies. So good to know that a good restaurant that we’ve enjoyed for so long is still there Thank you, guys and ladies

Had a lovely afternoon at Safran - we took our sons girlfriend there for a small family 21st celebration . Everyone was very attentive and lovely and make the afternoon really special . We also took our two children and the waiters even managed to find some extra coloring in items to keep them amused.
Everyone loved the food - the meat especially was cooked really nicely with great flavour on the barbeque area that they maintain at the front of the restaurant - all in all an excellent experience. Thankyou.

My friends and I were delighted by everything about our experience at Safran. The ambience is relaxing and warm - candle light, heaters! We were served quickly (in time for our movie), and gluten free/dairy free needs were attended to respectfully and without fuss and with clear options and explanations. The meals were delicious, and we particularly enjoyed the Mud Brick Rose on special offer.

We keep coming back and are never disappointed- the seafood platter such a highlight for us we couldn’t eat it all. The curry sauce the mussels were in super yummy.
But all the meals are lovely top notch quality and value. Been to safran for business dinners and lunches too a nice relaxing atmosphere. Love sitting outside watching the world go by as we dine plus we had our wee dog happily under our table with a water bowl provided by staff

We seem to go back to Safran at Least once a Month and the food and service does not Disappoint. This time we went with Family who were over from Australia and they Loved it. Great Service, Great Food and the Restaurant has not lost any of its charm especially on a Cold Wet Night in Auckland.

This amazing place was literally about twenty steps from our accommodation and the reviews looked good so we thought we would give it a try. We decided on a selection from the tapas menu. The drinks selection was really good so we started with some wines and then ordered the pita and hummus. The arancini balls and scallops soon arrived and they were absolutely delicious. We couldn’t resist the thought of the terakihi tortillas so had them as well. Next up - cocktails. Gorgeous. We finished by sharing the most beautiful tiramisu. It was a great way to end a wonderful dining experience. Our pink haired waitress with amazing nails was super attentive and friendly throughout as well - a credit to the establishment! We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

We were going to a 7.30pm movie at the nearby Rialto, and I wanted to eat dinner somewhere close by and chose Safran. From the moment we stepped into the cosy restaurant, we felt right at home. The nice staff greeted us immediately and seated us. They were all really friendly and professional. The food was delicious. We had a range of small plates and the apple pie for dessert - definitely recommend the apple pie! We'll be back for sure. The Weds Paella night looks too good to miss! Thank you to the Safran team for a really enjoyable dinner.

Good honest delicious food. The crispy skin chicken was sooooo yummy and hubby loved the duck breast with bok choy and tart. Everything cooked to perfection. The drinks were well made and served with ice cold glasses. Even the water tasted good. Excellent staff. The new waitress that served us was so sweet and cheerful. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely night out.

Had a fabulous team lunch last week. The experience was flawless from booking to payment. Appreciated being able to email ahead with our selections and have them arrive at the table within 5 minutes of being seated. Everyone really enjoyed their food! Thanks so much!!!

We often eat here before a movie. It’s a great place for a couple or a family. Food is always top quality and while it has a tapas focus there’s a range of dishes so it doesn’t have to be tapas. Staff are pleasant and there’s a relaxed friendly vibe.

Called in for a quick breakfast whilst on short Auckland break. Excellent friendly service, made us feel very welcome. The scrambled eggs with grain toast was very tasty and the poached eggs with bacon equally good. Indoor and out door seating.

This is a gem, in the corner of Khyber pass and Broadway in Newmarket. They serve out a great selection of Spanish cuisine. We loved their Rissotto, Steak, and Tapas offerings. And plenty of dessert options with Canneloni a stand out. Awesome service too. Attentive waiters, quick to redress any errors and made sure we had a great dining experience.

Booked bottomless brunch for 3 of us. Never been before so didn’t know what to expect - outdoor and indoor seating we sat outside under umbrella such a nice atmosphere. Pork belly was AMAZING w the apple sauce. Mimosa & Sea breeze cocktail were so yummy! Highly recommend location is great plenty of bars and restaurants nearby for options

We were celebrating our friends getting married with a party of 13 people. They arranged for us beautifully and the setup was stunning. The ambience was gorgeous and the staff were quick on their feet for us. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. They are also halal which fit our requirements to a tee! Would definitely recommend!

For a number of years we have been going to the movies at the Rialto in Newmarket on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
Safran has proved to be our "go-to" place to dine as a part of our night out.
It is not fine dining, but consistently good food and good wine choice, reasonably priced, and very good service too, What more could we ask?
