We dined at Andreas for the second time last night and both experiences have been faultless. From the warm welcome, to the table on the balcony, to the wine selection, to the menu choice, to the delectable food, it was a first class night. The...antipasto platter was well presented with a good variety of meats, cheese, delicious pizza bread, olives, oils and dips. Excellent value for money. Our table of five last night had the linguine vongole which got rave reviews; the beef cheek which was scoffed in a matter of minutes; the scotch fillet steak, which according to our American friend, was the best he has ever had; and the spaghetti carbonara left me with a smile on my face! All washed down with a crisp Italian Pinot Grigio - a perfect complement for a warm summer’s evening looking out at the beautiful Mission Bay. The only downfall was ... we didn’t have room for desert!! The staff were very pleasant and efficient and Scott, the owner/head chef was very attentive and across everything to ensure that had a 10/10 dining experience. We will definitely be back.More

We dined last week with a small group. A very pleasant atmosphere overlooking the park and beach in Mission Bay. The food was great and service efficient. Looking forward to a return in the near future.

Popped in for post theatre meal. Treated to bruschetta, followed by most delicious pasta in a warm tomato water, spinach and pea broth. Delicate and delicious flavors. Chocolate mouse, salted caramel and ice cream desert to follow. Wonderful service thankyou.

As two couples we both arrived separately, finally found a car park, retrieved our parking tickets (for refund off the meal) were seated by our old friend the Maitre'd and told sorry, we could not bring our wine as the restaurant had changed hands in...November. Monday was now the only BYO day. Not a problem, we purchased a bottle to share from the Maitre'd. Were given a menu that had changed so much (usual for a new broom) none of our fav's like Bruschetta, platters, steak were seen. Then had trouble trying to attract a wait person. When finally we caught the eye of one, both couples ordered different Pizza's, and on arrival they were very very ordinary. While waiting, we saw steaks being delivered - on asking ??? 'those are on the 'Specials Menu' - "why did were we not given one?" - 'sorry'. When about to leave the owner came and asked us how the meals were, we explained the above, his mediocre reply was not good. Finally when paying, we were told that only one of our Parking tickets would be accepted and used. After 20+ years eating at Andreas - we 4 said 'we will not be back' B&B and R&D..More

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your evening at my restaurant. It seems you were disappointed that the restaurant was under new ownership. The biggest issue I see is you could no longer drink you own alcohol in my establishment. People like you...More

My partner and I joined my family for a birthday dinner, at Andrea’s. We were greeted by a lovely and friendly waiter who looked after us and ensured we didn’t ask for anything. Food was brilliant, so much so that seconds were ordered! Definitely recommend,...as the location is prime, the food was fantastic and the waiters are friendly!More

Several trusted friends have recommended Andrea to us. We hadn't eaten there for some time and felt it was worth a try, to see what the new ownership delivered. Wow! This was a revelation. Finally a Mission Bay restaurant I am happy to recommend. To...start I had tempura oysters. Normally I am a raw oyster dude. this crispy delicate batter enhanced the creamy oysters. Off to a good start. then an Amusee Bouche arrived. crispy toast with a chili and tomato topping. The Good Wife's calamari fritti joined the lineup and continued the pleasure. My Main was Linguini Vongoli. Just perfect. Big meaty fresh clams in a sauce with a bit of a kick. The Good Wife had snapper which she declared to be astonishingly fresh and cooked exactly right. For dessert the Tiramisu and unusual but wonderful cheescake rounded off a memorable meal. Service was attentive and pleasant with good menu knowledge. I am looking forward to the adventure on which Scott Denning will take this lovely local.More

Unfortunately this formerly great restaurant has changed ownership, it is now only a shadow of its former self. I would always look forward to eating here on visits to Auckland , sadly when we ate here just after Christmas and were disappointed!! While the food...was still ‘ok” the service was terrible. The menu has been downsized as well. Lots of other places to eat close by, Andrea we miss you.More

Sadly, we have had our last meal at Andrea's. The new management's decision to allow BYO on a Monday only (???) is a biggie for us. Also, the consolidation of the menu, while common for new owners to do, removed many of our favourite dishes....We wish the new owner all the best. We've a few other Italian places to choose from just along the road.More

Did not expect the food to be so good at this small little restaurant that you can almost miss because it has a small front entrance. The service was good even though there was only one manager serving and one chef at the back. They...had a $16 lunch deal from a set menu which was good value for money considering portion size and presentation. Andrea's looks more like a pizza place but their sign boards advertised the Fish & Chips which were good and I opted for a Seafood Pasta which turned out delicious. Would definitely go back for another quick and easy lunch.More

Bruschetta some of the best we have in Auckland. Lamb shank and cannelloni both delicious. BYO an advnatage for us. Friendlyt efficient service with a smile. Able to watch the passing parade as we sat on the balcony. Mission Bay was humming on this warm...evening. Would return again soon if we could get a "no hassle" park.More
