We were impressed with the quality and value for money. Excellent gluten free options, with 95% of the menu able to be adapted, as well as the fact that they are Celiac NZ Accredited. We hope to visit again on our next trip to Auckland!

6 of us, no fish on the menu, ordered at 7.50pm.drinks were very slow to come out...first 2 entrees came out about half an hour after we ordered...why only 2? We sat and watched the first 2 people eat there entree! I got my garlic...bread at 9pm...over an hour!! So slow...then the other entrees came ..then the waiter said we would have priority on the mains ...everything took ages...poor service...food was average...not very apologetic...never going back!!More

Absolute rubbish from start to finish. Terribly poor service, average food. Party of 6 - 2 starters arrived after waiting 40 minutes from ordering. Other 4 people waited another 40 minutes for their starters. Drinks orders were mucked up & drinks forgotten. Mains were very...slow to arrive & we asked after them numerous times (as we did regarding the entrees). No fish, salmon or oysters from the menu were available. Would have given zero stars but not possible on this review. Will never go again, will never recommend.More

My husband took his parents and our 4 year old daughter who has coeliacs on Mother’s Day. Service was good, food was great, reasonably priced and coeliac friendly! Looked after our daughter well they provided an activity book and we’re really good with her.

Went there for mothers day. My wife is a coeliac and finds that may restaurants don't really cater for this. Gluten free fish and chips was superb and excellent value. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about GF. Highly recommend.

Turning up the customer service of the staff was organised and embracing. We were shown to our table along with menus. We both had 2 pints of Guinness as it's hard to find on tap in NZ. Food - I had the Scotch fillet (Wednesday...special) along with the Cafe de jus, was cooked to perfection - My partner had the Drunken Mussels - A kilo of fresh NZ green lips, creamy coconut and white wine broth, garlic ciabatta. Overall the food was 10/10More

Staff and management welcoming and attentive without being unnecessarily effusive. Delightful location but what we wanted was quality food. And we most certainly got that! Very reasonable prices (for both drinks and food) and a pleasant "Monday Special - buy one main, get the second...half price"! Altogether a very enjoyable experience.More

Went on a weekday evening for a family event. Friendly staff and quick service. We ordered Seafood Plate, lamb shank, pork ribs, scotch fillet and the special Wednesday steak. The food was yummy and the portion was huge! Plus the atmosphere was awesome! Definitely will...come back again.More

We visited on Valentines Day. Now I can't fault the food at this place as it generally was really really good (the pork belly in particular), however the service was very disappointing. I'm pretty sure we were supposed to get complimentary bubbles on the house...for V day, which I realized we didn't actually get until we got home. We also waited about 10 minutes for a glass of water, and drinks orders, it wasn't very busy at this point. It was a set menu for Valentines with a 'sharing' dessert, we opted for a variety of different starters (more like tapas) instead of paying for the set menu and finished with the 'sharing' dessert as we could still only choose off the set menu (if that makes any sense). We assumed the sharing aspect was more for the romance, and hoped it would be enough for two. It was very disappointing how SMALL the desert was, we got one piece of brownie, ONE truffle (sharing, really?) and ONE wafer, to which they didn't bring out any cutlery either, now that's not the bad part, it was more due to the fact we went to pay at the end and said dessert cost $28!!! I could have made the dessert myself 15 times over for the same price. To add to that, when we asked for the bill NOT ONE WORD was spoken, it was simply just handed down to pay and that was it. A $200 bill for two people, and we didn't even get a 'how can I help? How was the meal? Thanks for your service. Goodnight' NOTHING. I'm pretty sure having manners is the starting point in any hospitality establishment. So yeah, pretty disappointing for an establishment like such which does generally serve great food. I hope the next customers receive better service!More

Terrible. Absolutely terrible, rude service, dingy atmosphere, average food. Would Recommend walking on by to one of the other establishments in Mission Bay.

Wanted a place walking distance to where we were staying in Mission Bay. Chose The Attic based on location but it was great. Great friendly service, great food & Good Wine.

Had a great visit to the attic. We had the seafood platter and a steak which were super tasty. The service was also great, big shout out to the Scottish waiter who made our night.

Wow what a lovely view from the terrace . This restaurant has so many different options for Coeliac’s definitively a place to try

I have always walked by The Attic without even thinking about going in but just on a random evening my partner and I decided to go in for a quick dinner and to be honest I wasn’t expecting much. Firstly the staff were lovely and...helpful, I’m always a sucker for good service so that’s an A+ from me to start and throughout the evening. So the important part, the food! YUM it was delicious, I can’t fault any of it. The pork belly starter was on point, the flavours were amazing and I think it needs to be made as a main meal. For our main meals we both chose the lamb shanks and it was another great choice, the portions were generous and the flavours were all 100% We are definitely keen to return and would recommend The Attic for some delicious grub.More

We booked this through the First Table web site whereby you get 50% discount off the food bill. We received a friendly welcome but I should have asked the price per glass before ordering the wine that was recommended. It was good but at $13.50...which should have been a Happy Hour price it was more than I would normally pay. We sat outside on the verandah with our drinks whilst looking at the menu. Got the impression when we ordered that they had forgotten that we had a table already booked. We had 2 steaks that were cooked to our liking medium rare and were accompanied by fresh veggies and a side of fries. We were very happy with our main course. Ordering 2 red wines to accompany our meal took a bit of doing but eventually we were served our wine. Ordering desert was more of a challenge. They just appeared to 'forget' about us too often. We were on the verge of paying the bill and leaving before they eventually took our desert order. Desert was an affagato that was nicely presented and a liqueur coffee that just arrived in a glass that was overflowing. We had to ask for a saucer, serviette and spoon. Overall the food was quite good but the service was poor and we wouldn't contemplate paying full menu prices for the food because the service lets the place down.More
