Some of the best tapas, with service to match, we’ve ever had. Fresh, tasty and great cocktails. We called in on a Sunday night without a reservation, and couldn’t be happier with the del idiots food and attentive service. Simply brilliant.

So good to read your lovely words! Thanks so much for coming, and helping spread the word :) See you again, Clare at Carmen Jones
Wow. The meals here are just sensational. The beer menu a little Average but the rest of the drinks selection makes up for that. Meals were just superb. Very tasty meals, excellent service. Great place for. A large group of friends to celebrate anything.

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! Hope to see you again soon, Cheers, Clare at Carmen Jones
Young Polynesian guy was insouciant, facetious and inhospitable. Selection was pretentious and ultimately boring. Young Polynesian waiter / barmen, (not sure he knew what he was) and was insouciant, facetious and inhospitable.More

Hello, Sorry to hear of your experience. The person you are talking about was nominated for best waiter in the Lewisham Awards so something drastic must have happened that night. He is both an excellent bar man and waiter (we have to multitask in this...More
A very confusing restaurant with baaaad food. When we booked the restaurant clearly indicates that they are Spanish /Middle Eastern restaurant... NOT even 1 Spanish dish in the menu by the way. The restaurant has loads of cut food photos and matadors on the walls...but no sign of Spain whatsoever. The menu was more Turkish than anything else. The food was served cold and it was so obvious that they cooked it before and only reheated in the microwave. I didn't see any cooking happening in the kitchen at all. The pork belly was very tough, dry, overcooked with soggy skin drenched in cold salad. The beef rib was chewy, salty and served with a disgusting soggy bread n butter pudding. The dawgy fries are just very soggy fries with store bought condiments. Overall we wanted it to be a nice memorable night with friends and it ended up being frustrating and horrible.More

Hello Mustravel, Thanks for your feedback - so sorry to hear it was not a good night. I'd like to apologise, and will personally go and check on all those dishes which are normally delicious. Slow cooked cuts like pork belly and beef rib have...More
The food was just so so good. Every dish was delicious and well portioned. The drinks were fantastic and so was the service. A perfect evening! We will definitely be back and be recommending this place to friends.

Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed it!
This very cool Spanish restaurant is incredibly popular, the ambiance is buzzing and the fit out comfortable. The food was great and the service friendly and attentive. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the road and has areas suitable for groups. Chose between...the main meals and sharing plates or a combination of both. Very nice, thanks for having usMore

Thanks for coming! and for your kind review :-) Hope to see you again soon.. Clare at Carmen
Lovely Sunday evening with friends We chose several dishes to share. The potato bomb was super and they kindly added a fourth ball so we could have one each The pork belly has such a nice apple and cabbage accompanying and a surprising chorizo too....I had the market fish with risotto. Lemon juice dribble added to the flavours. RecommendMore

So glad you enjoyed your dinner! Cheers, Clare at Carmen Jones
On entry the first thing you notice is the retro fit out, then the relaxed atmosphere. There is a good selection of main meals and sharing plates and the food is great. The staff friendly and attentive. It’s bigger than it looks from the road...and has areas suitable for large groups. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Thank you for a great meal we will be back.More

Glad you enjoyed it! See you again soon...
What a fabulous restaurant, great service and atmosphere, but the food was the best, so tasty, loved it. A return is a must.

Cheers Sharyn!
The lamb hummus was beautiful but the mussels and pork made dinner 🥂with a great wine selection to boot

So glad you enjoyed it!
Best service, sadly we couldn't stay but staff were more than accommodating for me to takeaway the bombas, Granada pork and a sangria. Good prices and relaxed atmosphere 😊

Hope you can stay next time!! Thanks for the review :-)
Wonderful meal and great service . Loved the concept . Did not feel one bit rushed We would recommend To others .

Cheers! glad you enjoyed it - see you again soon
Decided to try Carmen Jones as was in the entertainment book. We were very pleasantly surprised by Carmen Jones. The ambience is warm, the staff friendly and the food absolutely amazing! Food reasonably priced and delicious. I agree with one of the earlier reviews that...this also was one of my best meals out this year. I shall be recommending to many and will most definitely be backMore

That's so nice to read Liz! Thank you and look forward to seeing you again soon! Cheers, Clare
Nice ambience, great food and service. Relatives pleasantly surprised to find this retreat, warm, cosy and comfortable. Crispy skin fish really tasty and well presented. Reasonably priced K Road is so full of surprises

thanks for clambering over those roadworks to get to us! hope to see you again when the dust settles :-)
We went to Carmen Jones last night and can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have had this year. Be aware that there are heaps of roadworks directly outside but it's worth the effort and in fact there was a reasonable...Wednesday night crowd i, in spite of that.. Hint: there is a little car park on K Road towards Ponsonby that we used or just Uber! We had the Calimari, Hummus for Syria and Bombas with the Lava Cake to share for dessert - just yum, yum and yum.More

appreciate you making the effort despite the roadworks!! so glad you enjoyed it - see you again once the dust settles :-)
