We went in a group of 7 on a Saturday night so it was at their peak period. Staff were efficient and friendly but very busy. I ordered a medium scotch fillet and was unable to eat the middle part as it was too rare. Chips were basic, salad a bit ordinary with no dressing, although the mushroom sauce was... More

Prices are reasonable for the amount of food served. Shared a few mains, and all cooked to near perfection. Only thing was the sauces, flavour was a bit bland. Desserts are quite large in size, suitable for couple to share. On average, one will spend around $50.

Nothing to complain about regarding the meal - steaks were fine and salad lovely and fresh if a little overpriced but then it is Toorak Road. What was pretty disappointing was the girl on the front desk who pretty much ignored us for several minutes when we walked in and then when we came to pay the same girl was... More

I got the lamb with baked potato, and fried onions on the side. All of it was superb! Also, the lovely waitress who served me was very kind and helpful. I was staying just across the road from this place so it was an easy visit for me, but even if you're staying further away, it'd definitely be worth the... More

Meal was ok. Wife's steak was tough and chewy and mine appeared cooked to quickly as burnt on the outside but pink in the middle. Price paid was too high in relation to quality of meal. Still, extremely nice atmosphere and staff were all courteous and polite

We've had a lot of steak but my Husband and I rate the Squire Loft as the best steak we've ever had 10/10. Service was fast and friendly. Will be back next time we visit Melbourne. Thanks

Visited without booking. Was busy Friday night, but arrived early part of evening. Service was okay, but not attentive enough. Felt rushed as soon as it was clear we were not having dessert. Certainly felt that staff knew they could get another group in if we shifted. Steak was very fatty for a fillet and a bit tough, would not... More

Ate here as a group of four at an upstairs table. We started with the mixed entree which comprised mushrooms stuffed with feta (delicious), prawn skewer, ribs, and a wurst sausage. All lovely but the mushrooms were the standout. For mains we had steak, salmon, and lamb chops, cooked well, with a green salad, roasted veggies and the famous fried... More

Invited by others to try and was really pleased with the service upon entry. All waiters were attentive to detail, food was great and prepared in a timely manner. Will go back for sure.

The first Squires Loft was opened in 1992 in Church Street Brighton. Our reputation for consistently delivering great steaks and unique flavours led us to a larger store in South Yarra where we are still located today. The success of the Squires Loft formula and demand for Squires Loft branded products led to substantial interest from staff, customers and business owners who wanted to duplicate the business. This has resulted in 15 steakhouse restaurants operating around Australia. These steakhouses are located around Melbourne, Country Victoria, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Western Australia. Further steakhouses are in the pipeline and there is significant interest, which we believe should lead to more Squires Loft steakhouses opening. As a result of this demand and significant recognition of the Squires Loft name, Squires Loft FRANCHISE Pty Ltd has been formed to enable the expansion of the brand.

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighborhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
