Dined at Squires Loft in South Yarra. Tables not that big but not such a big deal as not on top of other diners. Started with the baked Mushrooms & Feta with garlic butter. And the Boerewors Beef Sausage with chilli sauce that we both shared. Both were excellent and the sausage was outstanding. We both had the Eye Fillet as... More

I recently brought a friend in with significantly high hopes and am so glad that I had a much better cut of porterhouse than last time. The sauce is to die for - mushroom or pepper. The steak had improved and you're on the right track guys! I'm still wishing for the old school early 2000's as it was. Please... More

After landing in Melbourne back in 2012 this is the first restaurant we visited and to say this was an introduction to Australian cuisine what a great one it was! After now having been here numerous times I would definitely recommend!

We've been here a few times now and booking is def advised. Service is always great and the food hot and very good. The chips would be better if they were thick/hand cut and I tend to get the jacket potato for this reason. The steak is amazing and the sauces offered are good too. It's one of our fav... More

I had the ribeye steak with mushroom sauce and a green salad steak and the salad was ok the steak was slightly under cooked and chewy .i would have liked some oysters or anything for an entree but it all seemed to be from the deep fryer or bread. Lacked atmosphere Not rushing back

Had a bit of a meat craving, so popped into Squires loft for a steak. Service was quick, and steak / wine selection was really solid. Not breaking any new ground, but did simple things really well.

The headline says it all. From the 'shrooms which are the best (and I've managed to copy the recipe but it won't stop us being regular at one Loft or another) to the choice of steaks. Best value is the rump. The small fillet is superb if you need less meat. If you haven't been to a Loft you haven't... More

The first Squires Loft was opened in 1992 in Church Street Brighton. Our reputation for consistently delivering great steaks and unique flavours led us to a larger store in South Yarra where we are still located today. The success of the Squires Loft formula and demand for Squires Loft branded products led to substantial interest from staff, customers and business owners who wanted to duplicate the business. This has resulted in 15 steakhouse restaurants operating around Australia. These steakhouses are located around Melbourne, Country Victoria, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Western Australia. Further steakhouses are in the pipeline and there is significant interest, which we believe should lead to more Squires Loft steakhouses opening. As a result of this demand and significant recognition of the Squires Loft name, Squires Loft FRANCHISE Pty Ltd has been formed to enable the expansion of the brand.

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighborhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
